oh, ok, I see your point, RM. Looking at the third still, those are some fronds of the palm tree over the left side of the back window of the car. There is also a tip of a frond over the driver's window. The passenger window on the driver's side is uncovered though.

But I'll grant you, I can see the structure of the palm tree branches from the tree out over the car, and that over the window appears to be a natural extension from that branch structure. But there is cascading sheening across the back window due to the branches being between the camera and back window.

I haven't got very far into multimedia due to my other projects and don't have the knowhow to download/capture the video and work with it to look at it closer, so I sympathize with your efforts there, RM.

Central Florida murderer of Madeline Lienen claims he has info on Jennifer's disappearance. I'll post the news article, but relevant quote is this:

Detectives say they're investigating Russ' claims. They don't believe he has information that could break the case.

Murderers like this like to stay alive by pretending to know about unsolved cases. Only way to deal with them is put up or shut up. Would you like the chair or injection?

Potential Break in Case of Florida Woman Missing 3 Years Comes From Convicted Killer
Fox News
January 21, 2009

A potential break in the case of a Florida woman who has been missing for three years and whose photo later turned up on dating sites may have come from a convicted killer.

David Russ, who confessed to a 2007 murder, claims to have information about the disappearance of 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse and had his lawyer contact her father, MyFOXOrlando.com reported.

Russ is in the Seminole County Jail awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to killing Madeline Leinen. He asked to meet with Kesse's father, Drew Kesse.

"I think it's just one more lead that has to be followed up on," Kesse told MyFOXOrlando.com. "If it turns out, then we have something to go on."

No, that will lead nowhere, but this is much more like our suspect. It's in Pensacola, in the Florida panhandle, but it's a cop impersonator pulling over a young woman.

Our suspect, wearing a bike patrol uniform, may have overcome Jennifer in her parking lot or where I believe she had probably stopped to overnight her brother's friend cell phone to him. Someplace out of sight of traffic.

Cop impersonator sought
Thyrie Bland • tbland@pnj.com
January 21, 2009

(excerpt)

A man impersonating a law enforcement officer pulled over Lauren Hamrick, 17, in the area of Nine Mile and Beulah roads about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said.

“There is nothing worse than a sex offender and right below that is someone impersonating a police officer,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Ted Roy said.

“It damages us, and it makes the public feel unsafe. We really want to arrest this guy.”

The fake officer was possibly driving a white Toyota Camry with the word “Sheriff” in small green letters on the driver’s door. There were lights on the car’s dash board, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The suspect is described as a 6 foot, 2 inch tall, white man with dark bushy hair, a stocky build and a mole under his left eye. He is believed to be 20 to 30 years old.

The man was wearing clothing and a badge that were not typical of what a law enforcement officer would wear, the Sheriff’s Office said.

(snip)

The man returned Lauren Hamrick’s license, said he had made a mistake, laughed and drove off, her father said.

Hamrick said he called the Sheriff’s Office after his daughter returned home to see if a deputy had really stopped her.

“They said, ‘No,” Hamrick said. “I said, ‘Something isn’t right.”

update: The cop impersonator in Escambia Coubty struck again. Same one that could have abducted Jennifer? I don't know, but I suspect something like this took place.

Fake Cop Strikes Again In Escambia Co.
WFTV News
January 29, 2009

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A man posing as a sheriff's deputy has surfaced again in the Florida Panhandle, and this time is suspected in a sexual assault.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office said a woman was sexually assaulted Tuesday night near Interstate 110 in north Florida.

It was the third time in two weeks that a man has impersonated an officer in Escambia County.

On Jan. 20, a man impersonating an officer pulled over a 17-year-old girl, who escaped unharmed. Authorities believe that case is linked to Tuesday's incident.

On Saturday, a University of West Florida student told university police that a man pulled up behind her car and turned on flashing blue lights. It is unclear if that case is connected with the others.

Port Orange man charged with impersonating an officer
Susan Jacobson | Sentinel Staff Writer
January 29, 2009

A Port Orange man who authorities say was walking along a Kissimmee highway wearing a badge and law-enforcement equipment has been arrested on charges including impersonating an officer.

An investigator with Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles Bronson's office saw Davis Dasher, 39, walking along U.S. Highway 192 near Central Avenue Wednesday wearing a police-style belt containing pepper spray, a collapsible baton and handcuffs.

Dasher said he was a security guard but could not produce a license, Bronson's office said. A check revealed that Dasher was denied a license because he has a felony record.

He was being held on $11,000 bail at the Osceola County on charges including unlawful use of a law-enforcement badge and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.

Wow. This could perhaps be linked to the Jennifer Kesse case. RD, your views on this case pretty much match up with this person. Are the Kesse's aware of this?

Also, did this man have a gun on him or not? It is unclear from the article. I hope they do their investigation on this guy and do not let him go until proper investigation is done.

I'm certain they know from others contacting them same as I heard about it. There's some good people keeping a close eye on things down there.

It is unclear about the gun, Z3r0, but given he was charged with possession of a gun it must have been concealed.

Yeah, maybe an employer can alibi him for the day Jennifer disappeared, maybe he was serving time for that felony then, but definitely needs to be alibied.

Unless he was working security guard illegally and walking to wherever he was staying, then I can't imagine he was up to any good out there.

Hopefully they're able to solve at least one crime out of this and put him away.

What is scary is that this guy did not work more than 5 miles from where Jennifer Kesse lived. Here is the map coordinates from the mall to where this guy worked:

http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&lat=28.46973&lon=-81.434675&zoom=15&q1=4200%20Conroy%20Rd%2032839&q2=7556%20Municipal%20Drive%2032819

He worked at "Andrews International Security Services".

yeah, that map demonstrates it perfectly. Note that parking Jennifer's car at the next major street (bus line) to the east feints investigators off in the opposite direction.

In the map, Americana Blvd. is directly over the Huntington on the Green apartment complex at the corner of Americana and Texas. There is a sheltered bus stop catty corner from the apartments.

By feinting in that direction, then taking a bus down Texas and back over Oak Ridge towards work, he would be doing exactly what we would expect in trying to divert police in the wrong direction. For that matter probably hoped the car was stolen before it was found there anyway.

I will take a look at the info on that security company. Some good info, Z3r0.

Andrews Internation has a bike patrol training module, module 17 of their web training. Apparently have to be logged in to get it.

http://www.aiatss.com/ggp/id35.htm

Not saying Orlando had bike patrol, don't know yet, but the company has the wherewithall to have it.

Also saw that Universal Studios is across and up Kirkman from Andrews International Security offices. Don't know if they have bike patrol but they are armed with tasers there.

Hi Z3 and rd! rd - you mention suspect who left Jennifer's car probably hoped it would be stolen before being found - I have forgotten, were her keys left in the ignition?

I don't recall that they were, jane, I wasn't basing it on that. The way they steal cars I didn't think they needed keys!

This is all very interesting. Ofcoarse it can lead to nothing but should be at least taken into consideration.

The guy also lived in over 20-40 different locations. If you do a look up on his name on Whitepages and certain sites such as Reunion.com, he's listed in these for so many different areas. 2-3 of them being Orlando, FL. His full name is also "Davis Eugene Dasher" or "David E Dasher". He has different locations for just about every variation of his name:

http://preview.ussearch.com/preview/ala/newsearch?&searchLName=DASHER&searchState=FL&searchCity=Daytona%20Beach&searchFName=DAVIS&adID=009-0000000025&adsource=9&TID=0&cid=people&searchtab=people

24 addresses in CANADA KY
4 addresses in PORT ORANGE FL
3 addresses in MATEWAN WV
1 address in PORT ORANGE FL
1 address in PORT ORANGE FL
1 address in ORLANDO FL
1 address in PLANT CITY FL
2 addresses in WINTER PARK FL
1 address in MANNFORD OK
1 address in SMYRNA TN
3 addresses in MURFREESBORO TN
1 address in LASCASSAS TN
1 address in MARIETTA GA
2 addresses in ORLANDO FL
1 address in JENNINGS OK

If someone has a full membership on that site perhaps a look up on the Orlando addresses could show how far he lived from Jennifer, if he actually resided at those addresses at all...

from websleuths.com:

drumstickwrote:
somewhere in all the early video links I remember the interview with the neighbor lady who was walking her dog that morning. She made a statement to the press that she did not see Jennifer that morning and her car was gone.

Wherever that car was that morning it was not in Jennifer's parking spot according to this lady.

Was it hidden in one of the many garages at the complex and driven over to HOTG by a worker on his lunch break or was it taken off the property early that morning?

LE collected the film from businesses up and around the area and we don't know if they discovered her car on that film being driven by the suspect. They have never said.

As for the suspect's height. I believe the measurement of 5'3-5'5 is correct.

I have personally observed foot traffic in that area on my many visits to that neighborhood and that measurement is typical of what I saw.

~

drumstick, I can't recall seeing that before about a neighbor not seeing Jennifer's car that morning. It's what I expect, what I have posted I thought happened, but hadn't seen any confirmation of it. Not only would it be great to know that for sure, but also approximately what time she walked her dog.

Concerning the height, I'm here to listen and see if I can understand anything different than I've thought for years. Although the stride analysis from dearmont is interesting, I put greater stock in the third still where the suspect is partially obscured by the palm tree, and it was a palm like tree standing about 7 feet tall.

Granted, an uncertainty of the angle of the camera and pushing the suspect well out into the lane can make it appear that he is short, but I believe the comparison to the 7 foot palm tree is the best indication of his height, and that it is about average height of 5'10" or 5'11".

I also saw really good work done on websleuths a year or two ago by local photo pros who visited the site and their work was convincing in showing average height.

Also, dearmont, glad to see an experienced Imagery Analyst Specialist looking at Jennifer's case. I hope you have the opportunity to check out the Blowup of Jennifer Kesse person of interest / suspect thread where I have blownup the images and adjusted brightness on them. I think it is clear the suspect is wearing law enforcement equipment, I've posted that before here and the thread already has that info. However, given your knowledge and experience I wanted to make sure you got a chance take a look at it.
