As the old saying goes, there's more than one way to catch a rat, and the SA has found another one ... looks like the wheels of justice are slowly grinding away at this creep. I also find it interesting that the narcissistic duo of Peterson and his equally slimey attorney have popped up on still another television interview, despite the fact that even his attorney's law partner objects to their pattern of latching onto any accessible camera to put on their ego-driven show.

Drew Peterson's gun card revoked
Judge had just ordered return of his weapons

By Matthew Walberg | Tribune reporter
February 28, 2008

State police revoked Drew Peterson's firearm permit Wednesday, just hours after a Will County judge ordered officials to return guns and other items to the former Bolingbrook police sergeant.

State's Atty. James Glasgow sent a written request Tuesday to Larry Trent, state police director, for the revocation of Peterson's Firearm Owner's Identification card, officials said. By Wednesday evening, the state's attorney's office confirmed the card had been revoked.

The move put a damper on an otherwise victorious day for Peterson. For months he sought the return of vehicles, guns and other items seized by investigators probing the Oct. 28 disappearance of his wife, Stacy, and the 2004 homicide of his ex-wife, Kathleen Savio.

"I knew that was coming," Peterson said from New York City, where he was scheduled to appear Thursday on the "Today" show. "Just another pain in the [rear]."

Judge Richard Schoenstedt earlier ordered police and prosecutors to present to Peterson documents, photos, copies of computer hard drives, firearms tests and other evidence generated by investigators by March 12.

Peterson would need to agree that if those items were used at a future trial, he would not deny they were produced from his belongings.

Schoenstedt said he would decide on March 17 whether the two sides have issues to iron out and to admonish Peterson in person as to his responsibility. If both sides are in agreement, the property would be returned by March 28.

State's attorney's office spokesman Charles Pelkie, who called the judge's order reasonable, would not elaborate on reasons used to revoke Peterson's FOID card. He has not been charged with a crime and could have legally bought firearms to replace those held by investigators.

Attorney Joel Brodsky said Peterson poses no danger and he believes police are simply trying to irritate his client.

"I've called the state's attorney, and Drew has specifically said to the state police that if there's ever a warrant out for him, that they should call me and we'll walk in," Brodsky said. "I think it's more vexatious behavior. I don't think it's the state's attorney, but rather the state police, and I think it's a fairly sad commentary that they're trying to avoid compliance with a court order for no valid reason. I mean, if there was a reason to revoke Drew's FOID card, you figure they could have done it a long time ago."

Under the Firearm Owner's Identification Card Act, a card may only be revoked for specific reasons, such as a conviction for a felony or domestic battery within five years, admittance to a mental health facility, providing false information on an application for the card and being subject to an existing order of protection.

A card also may be revoked if the cardholder's mental condition is found to present a clear danger to the person or other people.

Some denials or revocations occur automatically when a person is convicted of a crime or committed to a mental facility, but others can be granted at the request of law enforcement, a family member or doctor, said state police Master Sgt. Luis Gutierrez. Last year, the agency denied or revoked 26 FOID cards.

Meanwhile, while Brodsky and Peterson flew to New York for his third appearance on the NBC show, Brodsky's law partner, Reem Odeh, questioned the way the case was being managed.

"I'm concerned that there's more emphasis and more of an effort to cater to the media frenzy than there is to looking into the issues surrounding the investigations," Odeh said. "It just seems to me that when there's nothing going on with the investigation and things are quiet in the media, it seems like sometimes either Joel or Drew says something to start the media frenzy all over again."

Brodsky has mounted an aggressive campaign for media coverage.

Asked whether she discussed those issues with Brodsky, Odeh said, "Absolutely. I don't think it's appropriate. I think it is in the client's best interest to keep it quiet and focus on the case. But he just says the case is going to make us famous and we're all going to get book deals."

Odeh said she plans to meet with Peterson and tell him that she believes he should behave in a more professional manner, and if that doesn't happen, she will push to have him dropped as a client.

Sounds like those law firm partners will be going separate ways. Odeh appears to have too much sense to be involved in this circus defense of the indefensible.

It's about time - we all think that way. Wish the wheels of justice could move quicker.......

I wouldn't mind that they grind that fine, just as long as they grind a little quicker before this guy does more damage...

You're exactly right, both of you. My greatest fear in this whole matter is for those kids, especially the really little ones ... Drew Peterson is blatantly evil, and evil knows no boundaries. I can't imagine any woman being stupid enough to be caught anywhere alone with this creep, much less actually datiing him, so there's a measure of protection for the general population in that, I suppose.

I was glad to see the following report of the dead wives' families joining forces in order to keep the wheels of justice moving and to give the families the closure they deserve by finding Stacy. I, too, am having a hard time being patient with this process, and I would love to see that nasty smirk wiped off Peterson's conceited face by someone somewhere somehow finding the evidence that is needed to lock the creep up forever.

Families of Peterson wives 3, 4 come together at fundraiser

March 3, 2008
By Maureen O'Donnell Chicago Sun-Times

Friends and relatives of Drew Peterson's missing fourth wife and his slain third wife came together Sunday at a fundraiser where Peterson would not have been welcome.

The former Bolingbrook police sergeant's marriages - and his jokes about dating again - were the main topics of discussion at the benefit to raise money to search for Stacy Peterson, his missing fourth wife.

Reached Sunday to see if he bought a ticket, Peterson said he hadn't, because "It normally turns into an 'I Hate Drew' party."

He added: "My private investigator has uncovered some very encouraging information on the whereabouts of Stacy," but declined to give details, saying, "I just want it to be investigated thoroughly."

Feared for their lives
Both Stacy Peterson and his third wife, Kathleen Savio, feared for their lives, said friends and relatives at the fundraiser Sunday.

"Stacy Peterson said to me many times, 'If I disappear, it's not an accident. He killed me,'" said her neighbor, Sharon Bychowski.

Three weeks before Savio died, she predicted her death, said her sister, Anna Doman.

"She said, 'I'm never going to make it to the property settlement,'" Doman said. Savio gave her reports of her domestic abuse calls on Peterson, and said, "'Promise me you'll take care of my boys,'" Doman said.

Savio's death recently was ruled a homicide after first being labeled an accident. Peterson has been called a suspect in Stacy's disappearance; he says he believes she left him for another, unknown man.

"She couldn't even go to the bathroom by herself," said her uncle, Kyle Toutges. "If she ran away with a man, Drew would know his name, his address and how many hairs were on his head."

"We went to get our hair cut," Bychowski said. "He called her eight times when she was getting highlights. When she would go shopping at Kohl's, he'd pull the cruiser in to see what she was buying."

About 350 people - some from as far as California - paid up to $30 to attend the fundraiser at the restaurant 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park.

It featured raffles, auctions and live music.

We are not getting any national coverage on this case anymore. I hope they are gathering strong evidence on Drew and are going to make an arrest soon.

Anything new on the case anyone?

Judge Allows Ex-Cop Drew Peterson to Get Cars Back From Police
Monday, March 17, 2008

JOLIET, Ill. — Former police officer Drew Peterson entered a courtroom Monday for the first time since being named a suspect in his wife's disappearance, winning a judge's order that investigators return seized cars and computers to him.

The former Bolingbrook sergeant has denied involvement in the disappearance of his wife, Stacy, who hasn't been seen since October.

Will County Judge Richard Schoenstedt said Peterson can pick up his SUV and car on Tuesday, and he can get his computers along with copies of their hard drives within 15 days.

"The judge has reviewed secret testimony of the state, he looked at the affidavits, and still found there was no compelling reason for the state to retain the property any longer," Peterson attorney Joel Brodsky said after the hearing.

Drew is now blaming the media for rumors he may possibly be arrested shortly. It's all their fault for his bad reputation. The story does not confirm he will be arrested but others have heard this is possible. With the recent arrests of men where there have been crimes without bodies, we can only hope it is the smug Peterson's turn.

He claims he has lost wt. and now misses his wife Stacy. He is lonely. Even after his antics and his new displays of affection toward Stacy, (BS) he still claims she ran off with another man.

It's time to wipe the smile off of Peterson's face. Let's get him.

On a good note, Drew's former buddies at the police dept. no longer keep in touch......

Ex-Cop Drew Peterson Prepares for Possible Arrest, Blames Media for 'Sinister' Portrayal
Monday, March 24, 2008

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — Jobless and with no prospects, Drew Peterson spends his days taking care of his four children: cooking meals, washing clothes, helping with homework. All the while, he does so knowing that most of the world believes he killed his last two wives.

Nearly five months have passed since Stacy Peterson vanished from the couple's home in this Chicago suburb. Peterson is a suspect in her disappearance, and authorities are also trying to determine if he had any role in the 2004 death of his ex-wife.

The 54-year-old former police officer knows that he could be locked up anytime, and that is part of why he allowed The Associated Press into his home for an exclusive interview.

"I am now dealing with the court of public opinion, which is filled with my jury pool," explained Peterson, who conducted the interview last week with his attorney's blessing.

I read today, after a long winter break, volunteers gathered again to search for Stacy. Let us hope they either find her body or some evidence for the sake of her family and so Peterson can be charged.

good to hear, goz. They're saying they'll search every weekend until they find Stacy.

I have to think she's in the blue barrel Peterson and his stepbrother carried out of the house. And that doesn't lend itself to be being anything but dropped into something, most likely water.

So unfortunately ground searches is what volunteers can do but it's the much harder water searches that will likely turn up the barrel with Stacy in it.

Still, Stacy's loved ones are doing what they can.

When is Drew going to be arrested all? It is taking an awful long time as far as I am concerned. Maybe when they find the blue barrel....

No news on Drews upcoming arrest. Darn it.

But I just read (and I don't think we have it posted) that Drew is offering a $25,000 reward for the safe return of Stacy...As if...

He also states, of course, she left with another man.

That is the latest I can find.

I need a "grand jury refresher" course. What is the protocol? They are probably still taking testimony, etc.
