Now that this has happened, he has defined himself as a bona fide creep. But as far as Lana knew (up until the very end) he was "an eccentric genius", I guess.

I'm with you on that Sherry!! The thought of beautiful Lana and Phil being intimate makes me cringe too. I guess an EWWW would cover it. He is one freaky looking character...

Prosecutor accuses expert of misleading jurors to help Phil Spector

Dr. Vincent Di Maio demonstrated how he believed Lana Clarkson killed herself in Phil Spector's home.

By Harriet Ryan
Court TV
LOS ANGELES — A forensic pathologist hired by Phil Spector's defense maintained the death of an actress was a suicide Wednesday in the face of a blistering cross-examination in which a prosecutor accused of him being an advocate for the pop music legend's innocence instead of an objective scientist.

Dr. Vincent Di Maio's second day of testimony began with a defense attorney gently leading him through a list of evidence he said pointed to Lana Clarkson shooting herself in Spector's mansion. By afternoon, however, his turn on the stand had devolved into a series of belligerent exchanges with the prosecutor concerning his conclusions and methodology.

"I told the jury the truth!" Di Maio shouted after Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson charged that he had misled the panel about the significance of gunshot residue evidence.

"Actually what you told the jury was a half truth," the prosecutor snapped back. (VIDEO)

Pathologist points to actress's flagging Hollywood career in suggesting suicide in Spector home

By Harriet Ryan
Court TV
LOS ANGELES — A defense pathologist testified Thursday that Lana Clarkson's death was an "impulsive" suicide likely fueled by alcohol use and her depression over her dwindling prospects as an aging actress in youth-obsessed Hollywood.

In his third and final day of testimony, the retired Texas medical examiner said the shooting at Spector's mansion was not a typical suicide that involved planning, but a spur-of-the moment decision Clarkson made after consuming what he has said were a half dozen drinks.

"This is an impulsive action with no thought of the consequences," Di Maio said.

The expert repeatedly said his opinion that the 2003 shooting was self-inflicted was based solely on physical evidence from the death scene, including blood spatter, gunshot and tissue residue and the location of the wound.

Comments: I just don't buy into this assessment that Lana would spur of the moment kill herself over her career at a strangers house. This guy is nuts and is reaching way too far to try and defend Phil. Number one there is not any indication Lana was depressed and her looks were not fading. I personally find Lana to be beautiful and she was happy according to her friends. People just don't go to other's houses and end their lives. You got to be joking. Sorry, just not gonna buy Phil's bull.

Especially when he comes out of the house with the comment "I think I just killed someone" and has had a past of doing this sort of crap before....

No kidding Sherry!

Phil's past is his present, just filled with such similar incidents of holding people hostage, their music, and waving guns. He is to me such an ego manic, psycho and seems like the type of guy that has to be in complete control of everything and everyone in his world.

Ex-cop: Music producer accused of murder said all women deserve to be shot

Retired detective Vincent Tannazzo recounted an alleged conversation he had with Phil Spector as he was throwing him out of a party hosted by Joan Rivers.

By Harriet Ryan
Court TV
LOS ANGELES — At Phil Spector's murder trial Monday, a retired New York City police detective recounted an alleged incident in which the music producer repeatedly referred to women using a vulgar expression and said, "They all deserve a bullet in their heads."

The witness, Vincent Tannazzo, said Spector made the comments as he was ejected from a Christmas party in the mid-1990s hosted by Joan Rivers. Tannazzo, who was working as a private security guard for the comedian, said Spector was armed with a handgun at the time.

He said that when Spector was forced to leave the same holiday function the following year, he repeated the profane tirade against women and threatened to kill one particular woman.

"I ought to put a bullet in her f------ head right now," Tannazzo quoted Spector.

Spector Trial Turns Bloody Again Natalie Finn
Wed Jul 18, 3:39 PM ET

Contradicting one of the prosecution's main scientific arguments, defense witness James Pex testified Wednesday during Phil Spector's murder trial that blood spatter can travel more than three feet, depending on the circumstances.

Prosecutors are contending that, based on bloodstains found on a jacket Spector was wearing the night Lana Clarkson died of a gunshot wound to the face, the famed music producer not only must have been standing within three feet of the actress, but was also the one who pulled the trigger.

Spector's defense team is arguing that Clarkson accidentally shot herself and that Spector was more like six feet away from her when she died, rather than two to three feet as Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department criminalist Lynne Herold testified last month.

This evidence seems to point directly at Phil having shot Lana,(IMO) as I believe the prosecution's case, not the defense in regard to the blood on Phil's jacket.

Prosecutors rested their case against Phil Spector Monday with testimony from a detective who said Dr. Henry Lee never handed over a potentially important piece of evidence he allegedly removed from the scene of an actress's shooting.

Another woman has come forward to say that Phil had threatened her too with a gun. This make the fifth woman that we are aware of. She is going to testify. This shows the pattern of Phil's behavior when he is with women and trying to have sex that they do not want to indulge in. Remember too, Phil also has pulled guns on male associates.

The jury will also be visiting the scene of the crime on Thursday.

I think at this point many believe Spector is responsible for killing Lana.

Visiting Phil Spector's mansion, jurors in his murder trial are full of questions

By Harriet Ryan
Court TV
ALHAMBRA, Calif. — Throwing off the passive role that is the norm on such field trips, jurors touring Phil Spector's estate Thursday repeatedly asked to reenact the fatal shooting of Lana Clarkson.

A judge brushed aside several proposals by jurors in the music legend's murder trial, including the production of a loud gunshot-like noise inside the mansion, but gave jurors permission to sit in the spot where the actress died.

Five panelists, all men, took turns sitting in Spector's foyer in a reproduction of the chair in which Clarkson died Feb. 3, 2003. As their colleagues stood nearby, the jurors slumped in the armchair with their legs splayed in front of them, the position in which the 40-year-old was found.

The location of Clarkson's body and the scientific evidence around it is at the heart of the trial. Spector, 67, claims Clarkson killed herself, and his defense insists blood evidence puts the producer across the room when she died. Prosecutors maintain he shot her because she tried to curtail what he hoped would be a romantic evening. They say drops of blood on his jacket prove he was within a few feet of her mouth.

The jurors' request to sit in the chair was part of a list that amounted to a supplemental itinerary presented to the judge at what was expected to be the conclusion of their visit to the suburban home.

Judge: Jury will learn that Spector's team broke evidence rules

By Harriet Ryan
Court TV
LOS ANGELES — Before they begin weighing murder charges against Phil Spector, jurors will be told that the music legend's defense team violated discovery laws, a judge said Thursday.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler said that, as punishment for the misconduct, he will instruct jurors that the defense failed to inform prosecutors as required by law that noted pathologist Dr. Michael Baden had arrived at a new theory of Lana Clarkson's death. (VIDEO)

Baden revealed the hypothesis, which provides an explanation for the actress's blood on the producer's jacket, during testimony Tuesday. He said that it was the result of an "a-ha moment" two days before during conversations with a defense attorney.

Fidler denied a prosecution request for the harsher sanction of striking Baden's testimony about the theory. He said he was convinced that the defense was trying to "gain tactical advantage" by not telling the prosecution in advance, but said striking testimony was reserved for the most extreme cases.

Comments: This court case seems to be awful long with a couple of mistakes too.

As expected, Spector won't be testifying in his own defense which is usually what occurs in these cases. Basically, the defense has rested their case but they may call a few more witnesses before the week ends.

It's murder or nothing for Spector, judge says

Jurors soon to deliberate the case against music producer Phil Spector will have a simple choice: guilty or not guilty.

By Harriet Ryan
Court TV
LOS ANGELES — Jurors at Phil Spector's trial will face a stark choice between second-degree murder and acquittal when they begin deliberations next week.

A judge ruled Wednesday that jurors will not be allowed to consider manslaughter or other lesser charges against Spector in the death of actress Lana Clarkson. (VIDEO)

My feeling is that the jury will go with guilty in the case against Phil. It appears there is just too much going against this weirdo. Anyone care to share their thoughts?
