We may have a link on this case. I cannot believe they finally arrested him for murder. Justice does not sleep. Now, that is one murder for the friend, how about the other one for his wife? I'm sure the evidence is being gathered..

Robert Durst, scion of one of New York's largest real estate empires, has been arrested in New Orleans on a murder warrant issued by Los Angeles County, the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office said.

Durst, born in 1943, is known for life twists that led him to be questioned but not charged in the mysterious deaths of his first wife Kathleen Durst in 1982 and a longtime friend in 2000.

There was no lawyer listed for Durst on the arrest report and Durst has maintained his innocence in the deaths.

The New York Times reported last week that the district attorney in Los Angeles had recently reopened an investigation into the December 2000 killing of Durst's friend Susan Berman, and was tying it to the case of Kathleen Durst, who went missing from New York and was eventually pronounced legally dead.

The investigation could be bolstered by new evidence shown for the first time in a six-part HBO documentary series about Durst called "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst," the New York Times said.

Robert A. Durst—the oldest son of late New York real estate scion Seymour Durst and the subject of an HBO documentary detailing his suspected involvement in the deaths of his first wife and a friend—was ordered held without bond Sunday in New Orleans in connection with the latter case, authorities said.

Mr. Durst, 71 years old, has long been eyed in the death of Susan Berman, who was shot in the head at her Los Angeles home in 2000. Ms. Berman, the daughter of a mobster, was a longtime friend of Mr. Durst.

Citing “additional evidence that has come to light in the past year, investigators have identified Robert Durst as the person responsible for Ms. Berman’s death,” said a Los Angeles Police Department news release.

From the above:

If you remember this: that makes three people

spokesman for the Westchester County District Attorney, Lucian Chalfen, didn't have a comment on Mr. Durst’s arrest, but said that the case on Kathleen Durst “remains an open homicide case and should new information be developed, it will be investigated.”In 2003, Mr. Durst was acquitted of murder in the 2001 death of his elderly Texas neighbor, Morris Black. Mr. Durst admitted shooting Mr. Black, dismembering his body and dumping the remains in Galveston Bay, but said he acted in self-defense.

I don't think RDurst can be charged for talking to himself in the bathroom.
He may face the death penalty.
After watching shows and reading, I do not understand how the police had evidence against Durst but failed to put out a murder warrant months ago but waited till the "TV HBO Special" aired. Since when do TV shows have to do with arrests? Sounds fishy and very media oriented to me.

Confronted with new evidence by the makers of a documentary about his life, the troubled millionaire blinked, burped oddly, pulled his ear and briefly put his head in his hands before denying he was the killer.

Then he stepped away from the tense interview and went to the bathroom, still wearing the live microphone that recorded what he said next.

"There it is. You're caught!" Durst whispered to himself before running the tap water. "What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course."

Los Angeles prosecutors filed a first-degree charge against Durst on Monday that could trigger the death penalty.

Durst is a suicide risk, sheriff says.
His lawyer claims he is not but the sheriff is moving him to a place where there is a mental health center for his safety.

I am not sure what evidence they have years later on Durst but we will see.
Im shocked if he is guilty the mob did not take him out as Susan was the daughter of a mobster... ( Susan Berman (1945–2000) Her father — a mob figure who replaced Bugsy Siegel in Las Vegas)

I wondered what they are going to uncover about other murders in relation to R. Durst?

Authorities in Vermont say that real estate heir and accused murderer Robert Durst has been linked to the 1971 disappearance of a Middlebury College student.

Middlebury Police Chief Tom Hanley said in a statement that his department has been reinvestigating the disappearance of Lynne Schulze since 1992, though he did not say why the case was reopened then.

Schulze, an 18-year-old freshman at Middlebury, was last seen on the afternoon of Dec. 10, 1971, across from a bus station and a health food store that Durst owned and operated with his then-wife Kathleen, who would disappear herself 11 years later. Earlier that afternoon, authorities said that Schulze had been seen outside Durst's store eating dried prunes that she had purchased there.

We are aware of the connection between Robert Durst and the disappearance of Lynne Schulze," Hanley's statement read. "We have been aware of this connection for several years and have been working with various outside agencies as we follow this lead."

The Burlington (Vt.) Free Press reported that the Schulze case has not been formally classified as a homicide
