I am still at a loss over this whole story. It is so very tragic, so sad.

I am sure they will ID this as her and there will be an arrest (s).

May she rest in peace, this little angel.

Because an Australian news team flew the bio-mom Emily to the US yesterday, it seemed clear that LE
knew they have Zahra's bone in last weeks search/find and sure enough they do.

The police search for Zahra was relentless and successful.

May this poor sweet child Rest in Peace. I am very sad all.

What a horrible case this is. I hope all avenues of recourse are taken against those that murdered this brave, young child.

Even though this was expected, the news is hard to hande.

Too much sorrow to deal with. Many deaths lately.

The chopper video of the search for Zahra at the Baker house showed that the roof of the back portion was covered with a blue tarp. Most likely the roof was leaking and the quick
fix was the tarp.

When they aired video of the inside of that house, it appeared that Zahra's room was below that tarped area in the back portion of the tiny house.

My thoughts about a leaky roof is that there was most likely mold growing in the eaves of the house.

Mold/fungus triggers cancer growth. Zahra was in remission for bone and lung cancer. A house with a leaky roof would be the worst place for her to live.

My guess is that her health was deteriorating and she did not receive medical attention.

There have been many reports of the abuse of Zahra at the hands of her Stepmother. Eliza Baker's own
bio-daughter testified to that abuse early on in the case, when Eliza was arrested on the bad check issue. At that time, the daughter asked the judge not to allow her mother (Eliza) out of jail.

The Stepmother was also charged with writing the fake ransom note related to the bogus kidnapping.

There are pictures of Zahra with a black eye not long before she went missing and was reported kidnapped by the father Adam.

Then there was the mulch fire which included the seats of the 2 vehicles of Adam and Eliza Baker.
At that mulch-vehicle fire, LE found a note in the bed of Adam's truck. That was the fake kidnapping note that Eliza Baker was charged with writing.

Most telling of all was the 911 call from Adam Baker when he reported his daughter missing:

She suffered so much abuse at the hands of her parents, well at least we know the step mother but how could the father not know?

The mold factor could not have been good for her already compromised immune system.

Read some more on the story but will have to find it.

Tomorrow I am having eye surgery so may be a tad bit behind.
It will depend on how much pain I will have afterward and if I can see. (also, if the Dr. doesn't screw up,, Opps.)

Maybe you have an update skipper, or heard something.

Thanks all, the procedure is over. 4 shots in the eye is not fun, (OUCH) but they closed the leaky vessels and all shoud be fine diabetic eyes wise for at least now. Thanks again for your concern and care. No throbbing yet which is unusal but happy for.

This story is so heartbreaking. Sadly, Zahra may have been raped by 2 men before her death. LE is investigating this claim.
This poor child has lived such a tragic life, tears can only flow for her.

May she have a better life elsewhere.

Police went to the home to see if they could confirm the fourth-hand information and found a mattress at the side of the house that "had a large dark stain in the middle," the search warrant said.

The tipster said the men did not admit to killing the girl but did say that they "might have hit her in the head," the search warrant said.

Police were also told by an attorney for Elisa Baker that the girl was dismembered.

Media outlets are reporting that the stepmother of a disabled 10-year-old North Carolina girl who was killed and dismembered, has agreed to cooperate with investigators to avoid a first-degree murder charge and a possible death sentence. Elisa Baker, stepmother of Zahra Baker, signed an agreement with prosecutors that took the death penalty off the table.
Court documents released last week indicate the extent to which Elisa Baker has been cooperating with the investigation.

The alleged plea agreement was reported by North Carolina television station WSOC-TV in Charlotte, but neither prosecutors or Baker's attorneys would confirm the deal.
