Thanks skipper, I knew most of this already but thanks for posting it all.

Did not know if the child support payments are true either. Remember reading about them.

Any news today? I have not even begun to search yet.

Let us hope there is enough evidence to make an arrest if there has not been one.

I find it just outrageous the stepmom had the nerve to write the ransom note....! Much of this case is hard to believe. As stated, the abuse keeps me up at night

No real news yet Goz- one article stated that LE has new information but I didn't catch what that was in the article.

The stepmother would most likely be the only source of any new info in the form of 'leads'. That they are back at the location of the prosthetic leg find tells me that could be the new info. A poster on Scared Monkeys mentioned that there are wells in that area so it could be a search of wells and sewers?

Will post more as I find it.

Elisa Baker's alleged jailhouse letters say Zahra not missing

NEWTON, N.C. (WBTV) - WBTV has discovered letters allegedly written by Elisa Baker from her Catawba County jail cell.

In the handwritten letters, Baker discusses everything from Halloween being her favorite holiday to pinning the disappearance of her stepdaughter, Zahra, on her husband, Adam Baker.

Thanks skipper. Two very interesting articles. So, dad was put out on the streets, he may soon see a jail cell. Stepmom, the classic evil type, is staring to blame another. That is typical of how this is going to go down. But seriously, where is the girl? Somebody has to give her up soon...

Eliza Baker is obviously more than a little 'off'. Her handwriting indicates as much.

Zahra's father Adam is obviously involved in the crime at some level and seems equally off balance.

LE, in attempting to establish a time-line for Zahra found a furniture storekeeper and a customer who stated that she was at the store with her stepmother on September 25. Since that time, they have reason to believe that is not the case because Zahra was never seen at the current house that the Bakers were renting.

They moved into the current rental house somewhere around mid-September and neighbors have stated that the little girl was never seen coming or going from the house or in the yard.

Also- the landlord who had contact with Adam and Eliza Baker at the house never knew they had a little girl.

Those statements bring into question the Time line re: Zahra at the Furniture store on September 25.

It appears that what happened at the new rental house as relates to the mulch fire in the yard, was that the Bakers were covering up the DNA and/or blood evidence in their vehicles.

Around the time that the Bakers called 911, October 9, and stated that Zahra was missing or kidnapped, there was a fire in their yard that was started in the mulch and included their vehicles. Someone doused the seats in the vehicles with gasoline and effectively burnt the evidence.

Let's see- who could that be?

At the same time of the vehicle/mulch fire, there was a ransom note found in the bed of Adam Bakers' truck. That is the ransom note that Eliza Baker has admitted to writing.

So- LE believes that Zahra has been missing since mid-September, making it all the more difficult to find her body.

Yesterday, a bone was found in the area where the prostetic leg was found and it is now a crime scene. Eliza Baker had lived at that location previously.

Hickory police recovered a bone Wednesday that may be connected to the Zahra Baker case.

Police would not confirm where the bone was recovered other than saying it was in Caldwell County. However, they spent the majority of the day searching along Christie Road, off Pine Mountain Road. Christie Road is the same area that Zahra Baker's prosthetic leg was found last week.

I was just going to post about the bone Skipper but you have it here already. I will hunt around tonight to see what I can add.

They are just nutcases but not crazy enough to plead insanity. They are well aware of the abuse and murder they may be involved with.

At this point we have to wait until they can determine if the bone is that of Zahra as they continue to look for more evidence.

I was thinking as I was watching the men searching for Zahra- that they should have been searching that diligently for Chandra years ago.

Heartbreaking- what happened to that beautiful little one. There are countless pictures of Zahra online and there is not one where she is not smiling.

I am shaken over the bone, (I Know it has to be ID'd) but this poor young child who suffered so much. I know we are waiting on the body, but still, one can't help but feel so much pain to read about such a heartbreaking story. I will be back to catch your last link skipper. I can't wait to see what that is about. Stepmom is a nutjob.

Oh, how horrid this all is. Chills are going up and down my spine.

Hi All, a recent update, (sorry I forgot to bold). LE is taking a break trying to catch up on paperwork. Interesting, they searched Dad's work too. I know it is standard, but dying to find out what was found.... Let us keep watching this case as we are all captured by this little girl and what may have taken place with her. Still, such a heartbreaker, to live such a tragic life and to smile that wonderful smile. I will hate when they find her body. Evil people just keep existing.

Since the investigation began October 9th, Hickory Police have submitted four rounds of evidence to the SBI for processing. In two of those submissions, the first results came back within a few days, the next results came back in two weeks.

The SBI has not disclosed what evidence was tested; however search warrants were executed on the former Baker home, two cars parked in the driveway, and a search was done at Adam Baker's work site during the timeframe evidence was submitted.
