Lorenzen has been known to disappear for periods of time. His father says he is in Europe though this has not been proven. Friends and family have become concerned about the length of time he has been gone.

We will follow this story and see if he returns on his own or if he is indeed
missing.

Collierville police are working hard to find missing basketball star Lorenzen Wright-- last seen a week ago. The police told Eyewitness News that they have doubled the number of detectives working on Wright's case from two to four-- but still no trace.

Former Memphis Grizzlies teammate, Antonio Burks, is as mystified by Lorenzen's disappearance as everybody else. "I'm hoping all is well for his family's sake and his kids. I would assume nothing at this time. He probably just wanted to take a vacation.. get away and clear his mind."

Police are en route to a wooded area at Hacks Cross and Winchester in southeast Memphis where a body has been found.

Officers can't yet confirm the identity of the victim, but two police sources say they are investigating whether it may be the body of missing basketball star Lorenzen Wright. Police sources have confirmed they are investigating a 911 hangup call from Wright's cellphone left Monday morning - the day he disappeared.

Lorenzen was shot 12 times. LE are sure it's his body and are conducting an investigation. Somebody must have been pretty mad to fire that many times. To me, it sounds personal.

No indication who is responsible for his death yet.

It appears LE has more questions than answers at this time. The ex-wife has been questioned and has given a story about being threatened. LE has their work cut out for them in solving this brutal crime. What about his insurance money? I have not heard anything about who that goes to yet. He has six children.

Lorenzen Wright's ex-wife Sherra Wright has been interviewed by Memphis and Collierville police regarding her ex-husbands disappearance and murder.

Gail Mathes Sherra's divorce attorney insists her client had no financial reason to want her husband dead.

"The worst thing that could happen to her is for Mr. Wright to be deceased. She needed him to be alive and working and helping her support the children," said Mathes.

According to Mathes, Lorenzen had a court order to pay Ms. Wright $10,000 a month in alimony and the children $16,000."

Monday Sherra Wright met with Collierville police revealing information, she failed to tell detectives in an earlier meeting, when Wright was just a missing person.

"She acknowledged that three men had come to her door approximately six weeks before," said Mathes. "She stated she had not told anyone that because she had been threatened with her life or the life of one of her children."

Over a month later, Friday July 19th police received a 911 call from Lorenzen Wright's cell phone.

Expletives could be heard in the back ground then at least 10 gunshots but Wright was reported as being seen Monday evening at New Era Barber Shop.

I still have not found out any insurance information. The ex-wife is not speaking to LE and has retained an atty. who also won't let her talk. There is some problem in regard to her story too. No shock the ex won't talk. She states she just wants to take care of the kids.

Detectives searched the house but no indication as to what they were looking for. THis guy is really missed in his hometown. He is a somewhat hero.
