You are right Goz- and the 2 cases seem typical of what is happening in the world today. Not saying that all stepmothers are evil predators, just saying that some men seem to turn a blind eye to obvious bad behavior.

Goz and all,

Just came across this article that speaks to what we were just discussing about the 'blind' men:

Kaine: There was no way to know son would disappear

By Anna Canzano KATU News

Excerpts:

PORTLAND, Ore. - Kaine Horman, the father of missing 8-year-old Kyron Horman, said he no longer feels responsible for what happened to his son, he said in an ABC News interview.

Excerpt;
He also downplayed the apparent fracture between himself and Desiree. Earlier this week, she accused him of withholding information about what was happening at home between Terri and Kyron.

There have not been any arrests in Kyron's case and his parents are still hoping he is alive. Theories seem to be pointing to his stepmother as the one who has taken him. Maybe if that is the case, there is a chance he may be alive.

The parents are pleading with the public now that he has been missing for six months to help find Kyron.

The biological parents of an Oregon boy missing for six months have issued a new appeal to help bring the 8-year-old home.

Kyron Horman was last seen June 4. His stepmother, Terri Horman, said she dropped him off at school that morning.

In divorce filings, Kaine Horman said he believes his estranged wife, Terri Horman, "is involved" in the boy's disappearance. The stepmother has been the subject of intense scrutiny for several months. Court documents also allege Terri Horman attempted to hire a man to kill her husband.

No arrests have been made in Kyron's disappearance.

"We feel the investigation continues to move forward in a positive manner and is progressing toward finding out what happened to Kyron," his biological parents, Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, told CNN affiliate KGW in Portland. "Briefings continue with law enforcement on a regular basis and we remain confident in the commitment of law enforcement and in the mission to find our son."

-- The investigation into the disappearance of Kyron Horman will be getting a boost from the FBI, which is dedicating up to six agents to help a sheriff's office task force.

The team of investigators assigned to the case includes an expert in information technology and a communications technology expert hired out of California to look over cell phone and cell tower data. There is also a behavioral psychologist helping in the case, Staton said.

Nice to see some action taking place in this case. We have heard nothing new for awhile now. Maybe the FBI can shake some life into this missing case.

I am praying this effort to search has brought some evidence and results. Kyron has been missing for 3 years now and went missing on his way to school. No suspect has been named but the focus has been on his stepmom which isn't good news. His mother filed a lawsuit against his stepmom.

I will keep you updated with any news.

Let us pray for Kyron and his family for an answer.

A link for his website has been posted if any want to visit.
