sorry, Rainbow, wasn't in any publication unless in NE, Globe, those guys.
The conversation you had obviously no one else knows about. I don't know who the guy is but he hasn't said anything like that before that made it to print.

Two issues, rd:
1, I didn't know that Quote: | police revealed seven years later that Condit's DNA was found on her intimates. |
2, I disagree that any old type of memento would have identified Condit as the significant other. For instance, something from a restaurant or bar, such as a set of chopsticks or a coaster wouldn't necessarily point to a guy in general, nor any particular guy. Or a pressed flower or leaf or whatever. You bachelor geezer! |
jane, then why would they sanitize random items that don't identify anyone?
You, jane, have the honor of having posted that the Washington Post dropped this little gem in their series:
Quote:
The DNA from Condit's saliva was compared with the DNA on the panties. It was a match.
I think everything but my memory is going.

No, RD. It was reported very early on and several people close to the investigation confirmed this was the case in conversations that they had with potential witnesses. |

sorry, we have everything ever reported and we discussed every rumor, report, and speculation in 2001 and 2002, pretty much everything was grist for the mill.
Yes, lots of people posted as you just did, with the reasoning that since nothing of Condit's was found in her possession that her apartment must have been sanitized.
My goodness gracious, we discussed it at great length concerning the computer, who was on it, etc. which is where the no fingerprints rumors got started.
Pretty much anything you can imagine got posted and discussed. That was a common meme that kept getting posted.

I haven't read the last couple of posts yet, but am responding to rd's earlier post about me posting the saliva article - wow. I guess I didn't read it very carefully. I'm so sorry Chandra got mixed up with that unspeakable excuse for a man. Yech. Not that I'm particularly prudish, but it's whose saliva that is the issue. Keep your saliva where it belongs, Gary Condit, you dirty old man. _________________ "There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."

Oh wait, the DNA matched, but that on the underwear wasn't necessarily from saliva. I'm tired, old...everything's going, including my memory. Let's hope GC begins to feel and act his age, too! _________________ "There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."

rd, your logic isn't quite complete when you ask why would they remove non-identifying items. Wait - I'm too tired for this argument! _________________ "There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."

Thanks, sigsky - very interesting.
Quote: | Levy family members see things differently [as opposed to law enforcemnt]. "They've hidden things. They've mistreated information. They've mistreated our family. It's been going on for years," Levy's aunt Linda Katz said. |
Since Guandique was charged I have suspected that Chandra's family must have been feeling extremely frustrated. Railroading Guandique would have fooled most of the people, but not Chandra's family nor anyone who has closely followed the case. _________________ "There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."

I am glad to hear this news. This is why it was such a good idea of the Levys to have hired their own investigators. |

This is the first I've heard of evidence taken from a car parked near the park. Quote: | ....At Friday's hearing, Guandique's public defender, Maria Hawilo, said defense attorneys want to evaluate dozens of items and possibly perform more tests. Hawilo said that includes material taken from Levy's apartment, the site where her remains were found, a car that was parked near the park, and former California congressman Gary Condit's apartment.... |

From article mentioned above Quote: | ....D.C. Superior Court Judge Gerald I. Fisher said Hawilo must submit a list of what they're seeking, and return by March 10 those items as well as material they previously received from prosecutors.
Fisher denied a request from Guandique's attorneys that DNA profiles be provided for all those who handled certain items. Hawilo said an unknown male DNA profile was found on a pair of tights retrieved from where Levy's remains were found.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Fernando Campoamor said analysts at Bode Technology Group tested the tights and confirmed the DNA does not belong to Guandique, Condit or any of its employees. Campoamor also said a bra found at the same site contains the DNA of a female analyst from the private lab, but no one else's DNA is on it. |

yes, jane, I was considering that about the car parked near the park when I archived that news article away. What car, parked near where in the park, when?
Why did the DC police have an interest in it, and when?
One of the vehicles known to have been searched was Condit's DC car often parked at Dayton's house, but since Condit used it frequently driving Anne Marie around I suspect he also parked it in his allocated Congressional parking space. One of the questions I have posed in Murder on a Horse Trail is whether that car had a Congressional parking pass, and was it accessible to Condit the afternoon of May 1 when Chandra disappeared.
The only other vehicle I'm aware of being searched was Darrell's girlfriend's SUV. That was done during the brief time Darrell was held after finally being caught, until someone was so desperate to get him out of law enforcement hands they threw away $50,000 to free him.
That's pretty desperate. Darrell must have known something.

The unknown male's DNA found on her tights is below low. It shows the DC prosecutors are scum of the earth. They made people believe DNA found on her tights was involved in their indictment of Gaundique.
Maybe they were hoping to railroad him in a quick deep freeze kangaroo court before anyone figured out it was their own pathetic contamination they were indicting.
And they're guilty, as charged. Or should be if their shenanigans were transparently exposed for all to see.
