Another man who decided to kill his wife to solve his problems. As of today, he is still on the run. The only thing I am grateful for is he did not kill his kids as many are doing lately. This is another sad case where counseling could have help. Friends have stated he was very family oriented and they did not know they were having problems. Let's get this guy quickly.

May his wife and the victims rest in peace.

Georgia professor sought in shooting death of wife, two others

SNIP

ATHENS, Georgia (CNN) -- A University of Georgia professor apparently shot and killed his wife and two other people at a community theater group's reunion Saturday, then dropped the couple's two children off at a neighbor's and fled.

An alert on the UGA Web site says professor George Zinkhan is a suspect in an off-campus shooting.

1 of 5 Athens-Clarke County police said they have local, regional and national alerts out for George Zinkhan, 57, an endowed marketing professor at the school's Terry College of Business.

"It appeared he and his wife were having problems," police Capt. Clarence Holeman said.

Holeman identified the dead as Marie Bruce, 47, Zinkhan's wife and a prominent Athens attorney; Tom Tanner, 40; and Ben Teague, 63.

Friends identified Bruce as the president of the board of the Town and Gown Players, the theater group holding a reunion picnic on the theater's deck when the shooting took place. Tanner and Teague were identified as set designers for the theater.

Two other people were wounded by ricocheting bullets, Holeman said, but did not identify them. At least 20 people were in attendance at the event, he said.

The FBI revealed our professor has a plane ticket for the Netherlands and left behind an empty passport wallet. This sounds like he planned to kill his wife, and it wasn't done out of in the heat of anger.

Hi Goz!
Another interesting case of life versus art. Did you notice that the name of the play that the Thespian group was performing was titled, "Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure"?

The Police believe the rampage was set off because he had a fight with his wife and she was planning on leaving him. He still is on the run.

SNIP
Authorities believe a fugitive Georgia professor on the run since allegedly gunning down his wife and two others intentionally put his Jeep into drive and let it plummet into a ravine near his home.

They also theorize that George Zinkhan, 57, is still in the Atlanta area — where he lives and teaches business courses at the University of Georgia — and that the rampage may have been sparked by a fight with his wife, who reportedly was planning to leave him.

Georgia Professor Wanted in Killings May Have Buried Himself
Sunday, May 10, 2009
Associated Press at Fox News

SNIP

Cadaver dogs found the body of a wanted professor "beneath the earth" in the north Georgia woods Saturday, two weeks after police say he shot his wife and two other people to death outside a community theater, then vanished.

Searchers found two guns near the body of marketing professor George Zinkhan, 57, but police wouldn't say how he died. They did say it appears he buried himself in brush and dirt.

"A person who is not accustomed to the woods would never have found the body," said Athens-Clarke County Police Chief Joseph Lumpkin.

Thank God he didn't kill the children Rainbow. That seems to be what men have been doing lately. The children always suffer it seems. No mother or father now. How very sad. You are right.

Have a good evening

It looks like the professor killed himself and dug his own grave too. He also was targeting a male friend of his wife's.

Georgia Professor Who Killed Wife, 2 Others Was Targeting Her Male Friend

SNIP

A University of Georgia professor who killed his wife and two others before fleeing was targeting her male friend, authorities said Tuesday.

George Zinkhan, 57, and wife Marie Bruce had been having marital problems at the time of the April 25 shooting spree.

Zinkhan, a marketing professor at the University of Georgia's Atlanta campus, was specifically targeting a Clemson University economist who volunteered with Bruce, 47, at the local theater group.

Authorities said Zinkhan fired at Tom Tanner, 40, first before aiming at Bruce. The exact nature of the relationship between Bruce and Tanner wasn't immediately clear.

Zinkhan vanished after the murders, leading authorities on an international manhunt. His body was found Saturday near his home in a grave he dug himself and police said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Authorities said Zinkhan used a shovel to carve a hole and then dumped dirt and debris on himself before shooting himself in the head with a handgun. He left no suicide note.
