Ben Affleck is making a movie in DC called State of Play. It's about a US Congressman caught up in a scandal involving his affair with a mistress who turns up dead under suspicious circumstances.
INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

interesting, blondie. Brad Pitt was to play the politician, but there were multiple rewrites that didn't agree with his original vision for the movie.
Rewrites to lessen fears of a lawsuit from Condit? That would be my thinking.
I think Ben Affleck will play a better Gary Condit type politician than Brad Pitt anyway. Russell Crowe plays the investigative journalist. Should be very good.
Looks to me like the timing was to be out this fall at the peak of political season, but the writers strike set it back. Not sure when it will be able to hit theatres with filming just starting a few weeks ago.
I trust Affleck and Crowe to push the story closer to telling a real life DC intern murder mystery.

This sounds like an interesting flick. I agree, Brad Pitt would not be good for the part of the Condit type politician.
