Although described as a skeleton, the body is also described as apparently a woman in her 20's.
Some missing woman has been found today. But who?

Skeleton found in wooded area of Lake County
Associated Press
May 14, 2007
Beach Park, Ill - The Lake County Sheriff's office is investigating the discovery of human remains found in the town of Beach Park.
The Lake County Coroner, Doctor Richard Keller, says a resident walking through a wooded area Saturday night came upon a skeleton, which appears to be that of a woman in her 20s.
No cause of death has been determined, and Keller says an autopsy will be performed in the next few days in an attempt to discover that and to learn the woman's identity.

Many possibilities why she was not reported unless you have the information now. She wanted to: stay hidden from an abusive mate, he killed her, she was a prostitute or a homeless person, or she was not in contact with her family. This type of scenario or possibly anything such as one of these would cover it.
Did you get any other information on her?
Sad so many women are turning up dead. She was so young.

No, I guess they'll try to determine next of kin, etc. and try to determine if her death was a crime from an autopsy and pursue from there. They did have an address so that's quite a lead to investigate.
