D.C. Madam's Suicidal Thoughts
Palfrey pondered killing self after early-90s prostitution bust
MAY 1--Deborah Palfrey, the so-called D.C. Madam who today committed suicide at her mother's Florida home, once told a California judge that she "seriously considered" killing herself following her arrest in a felony pimping case in the early-1990s. The 52-year-old Palfrey, whose body was found hanging in a shed near her mother Blanche's Tarpon Springs home, was convicted last month of racketeering and money laundering in connection with her operation of an escort service that catered to Washington insiders, including Republican Senator David Vitter. Palfrey's federal collar came 16 years after she took her first pimping conviction in San Diego Superior Court. Before her sentencing in that case, Palfrey filed a court memorandum claiming that she had "thoughts of suicide" and experienced "Vietnam-like flashbacks" as a result of persecution at the hands of San Diego police. Suicide, she noted, was a "viable option." An excerpt from Palfrey's June 1992 court filing can be found below, while the entire document, which details her personal history, is here. In arguing that she deserved probation and not incarceration, Palfrey stated that she was "not a criminal" and "not prison material." She also promised, "I will not re-enter the escort business." Though she claimed to have "suffered enough," Palfrey was eventually sentenced to 18 months in state prison. Palfrey was scheduled to be sentenced in late-July for her recent convictions and, based on federal guidelines, faced upwards of six years in prison. |

I didn't see it coming. Mainly because I thought the sentence would be light, but Deborah said it would be four to eight years.
And on top of that, she felt the Feds had already destroyed her life while sparing all the politically powerful men who used her services. takes two to break this law, seems to me.
One of Palfrey's women committed suicide in January, for the same reason.
I feel so much safer now. The politically powerful must feel so much more so.

I wonder about that, too, Goz. It's not as though a hanging has to be suicide. It's not the usual way for a woman to commit suicide, although not unheard-of. Evidence would show, but nobody's going to look at it... _________________ "There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."

|

Hi, again. I apolgize for posting my last 2 posts on the wrong thread (Chandra Levy 5 Years Later) and for any misspellings and grammatical errors in my posts.
Here, again, is the link to the website of the detective bureau, who the Levys originally used. Notice, that Rod Wheeler works for this bureau, as well.

Some of the comments to this news story mention the modality females (in Deborah's demographic) normally use to commit suicide. I believe a psycholgical analyst on the Nancy Grace show (yesterday or the day before) mentioned that Deborah Jeane was a narcissist and that narcissists would rather commit suicide then spend time in prison, for example. What do you all think? |

I'm sure that some of you have already gone over internet notations of D.J.'s phone logs, in order to see if any of them are relevant to this case. However, I thought I would provide the link one more time. May be something will come to light.

Deborah Palfrey, DC "Madam" commits Suicide on May 1, 2008, the exact same day as the seventh anniversary of the dissappearance of Chandra Levy in 2001! Is this just a strange coincidence? Chandra was rumored as having been one of the girls Palfrey recruited for her services by Fox News and others, since she fit the profile of the type that worked for her and of course her relationship with Condit and the mysterious circumstances surrounding her unsolved murder. The suspicion is that Gary Condit was one of her clients and met Chandra through her service. Palfrey denied that Chandra worked for her, and I doubt that she did. But this is pretty bizzare. Most comments I read on the Internet state disbelief that it was simple suicide, and that she was done in, instead. I believe Condit has always had some high-level kind of political protection because of his knowledge of the private lives of D.C.'s "elite". What if Palfrey had made threats to reveal more than we now know, because she saw a very bad outcome for her sentencing hearing in June...Perhaps to Gary Condit? As far fetched as it seems could this be some kind of perverted "signature"? Of course it simply could be that Palfrey was depressed about spending time in jail. But the timing and circumstances of this makes me wonder. |

Hi James, Rainbow et al. I never thought of that - May 1 again. It is supposed to be a big day for occultists, too.
I don't know about Palfrey being a narcissist, nor about whether they are likely to prefer suicide to a jail sentence, Rainbow. I don't know whether their suicide rate would differ from that of the general population or not. _________________ "There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."
