Last week it was pointed out to me that E! Entertainment network had scheduled a show called "THS Investigates:Chandra Levy". It was listed in the New York Times and on-line and on the Time Warner on-air guide. After hearing about this I set my VCR and was looking forward to it. Instead, they ran a THS Investigates about Kate Moss. While this was quite interesting I was disappointed not to see a "New" report on the mystery of what happened to Chandra.

Since that time I have tried to call E! Entertainment's office here in New York but no-one answers the phone. I have their address and do intend to stop by to find out why they would have listed such a show in the first place. There is nothing about it on their website. I want to know what happened.

Didn't see anything in their forums or schedule about it. If it was scheduled it must be made. I wonder if it was that same docu-lite on Chandra I saw awhile back and posted my thoughts on.

They could possibly be recycling it from courttv to e!, I don't know.

I went to the building in which they have their office but couldn't get past Security in the lobby. Still can't reach 'em by phone.

I'll try emailing them.

"They got the memo"?

That's funny in a sinister kinda way!!!

I saw it, and it was an utter waste of time. It focused on the Levy case and payed specific attention to the "similarities" between the Levy incident and two other unfortunate disappearances, those of Christine Mirzayan and Joyce Chiang. The first hour and a half was a summary of the three murders, with comments from reporters, family members, etc. The last half hour was mainly devoted to the theory that since all three girls were brunettes, about 110lbs and 5'4", were interns in DC at one time, lived in the Dupont/Georgetown area, and their bodies were found in National Park areas, they might have been murdered by a serial killer. The supposed smoking gun in this story is that all three girls have black hair and may have walked through Dupont Circle on occasion. Pardon me for being utterly incapable of seeing how this proves there is a serial killer roaming our streets. It was just another "Blame anyone but Condit so we won't get sued" piece of nonsense.

Thanks James,

I'll watch it anyway, if I can find it on their re-run schedule. I'm looking for pictures of some of the suspects and principals that we haven't seen before: Sven Jones, Ralph Durant, Condit's PR guy and a few other obscure folks. Trying to see if the faces match the public statements.

At least the story's not completely 'vanished'.

signed with cheers,
The other James

my memory may be failing me in my old age, but didn't we see at least a slight indication early on in this story that condit knew christine mirzayan and joyce chiang, too? interesting that that particular 'common factor' obviously was not a focus of the broadcast.

The politician Chiang worked for had an office very close to Condit's. I don't know anything about a connection between Condit and Mirzayan.

The connection between Condit and Joyce Chiang is much stronger than that. I'll find links to info we have here, but all indications are that he was working with her closely on an immigration bill both with her California congressmen boss across the hall and continuing when she went to the federal Immigration and Naturalization Service agency and Condit testified about the bill to Congress for the INS.

It would have been next to impossible that he wasn't in close contact with her through the stretch of years between the ending of his affair with his aide Joleen McKay in 1996 and Joyce's disappearance in 1999.

Condit took up with Anne Marie Smith and Chandra Levy the next year, bookending the gap with a couple of more mistresses, one of whom also disappeared.

The show ran again at midnight here my time last night. I happened to catch it on TV while turning the channels.

James Anderson's summary is fitting below. Read that if you missed this show. I agree, and do not have much to add. Just wanted to let everyone know the coverage is still being shown.
