Though the hearing has been postponed, Ricardo Flores, Stephanie's father, faced Van der Sloot today. I'm sure it was a moment that he will never forget and more painful than anything he has ever done before.

The loss of his daugher must be very difficult to cope with. I do not know how I would react if I saw this monster so this man must have went through every motion he has.

More at the link below.

"His daughter, Stephany Flores, was found dead in a Lima hotel room registered to van der Sloot in May 2010. Police say van der Sloot took money and bank cards from her wallet and fled to Chile, where he was arrested a few days later."

I had no idea - boy, that took a long time. Even with his judge father dead and this murder taking place on another continent, it seems this guy has some powerful connections, what do you think?

Natalee's father is asking a court to declare his daughter dead.
It could be months before a decision is reached.

It has been six years since she has vanished.
Her body has not been recovered.

Joran Van Der Sloot Names Former President And Stephany Flores' Father In $10 Million Lawsuit
November 29, 2011

Snip
Murder suspect Joran van der Sloot has filed a lawsuit against the Chilean government, claiming his human rights were violated when he was extradited from Chile to Peru. The 24-year-old Dutchman is seeking $10 million in damages.

The lawsuit alleges there was "pressure from the then-President of the Republic Alan Garcia Perez" to have him extradited. The suit further argues that police in Chile denied van der Sloot access to a telephone or computer so he could communicate with his family and alleges he was "deprived of his right to counsel."

In addition to Perez, the lawsuit implicates former Peruvian Minister of Interior Octavio Salazar, former police generals Miguel Hidalgo and Cesar Guardia, and Ricardo Flores, the father of murder victim Stephany Flores.

Van der Sloot, a long-time suspect in the disappearance of American teen Natalee Holloway, is accused of the May 30 slaying of Flores, a 21-year-old Peruvian business student, who was found dead in his hotel room in Lima on June 2, 2010. Van der Sloot has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the case.
