Interesting footnote to this case that she has been kept locked up since they found her. Parents are still working on the theory that she was abducted when it sounds to me like she ran away. Makes me wonder if they were keeping her safe while they made sure something hadn't been going on at home....

Judge orders doctor to evaluate Cass County teen
Lindsey Ryan may now receive the treatment her parents have been asking for

A doctor may now evaluate the Cass County teen allegedly abducted by a man that she met at church. After a Friday court date was postponed a judge decided to appoint a doctor to evaluate Lindsey Ryan, 14-years-old.

Lindsey has been locked up and under the court's care since the end of March. That's when she returned from a three week, cross-country trip with her alleged abductor, 56-year-old convicted murderer Terry Drake.

Lindsey's parents, Patrick and Carol Ryan, want the girl home and they want her to receive abduction counseling from a California doctor. The judge in this case says she hasn't received enough information on the psychologist.

Treating Lindsey
According to new court documents, Cass County Judge Susan Dobrich ordered doctor Jim Henry to make recommendations for Lindsey's treatment.

Ryan family attorney Kevin Cronin says, "This child not been convicted of anything and the Ryan's have not been convicted of anything. Therefore, the Ryans should be able to do what all parents in Cass County can do: treat their child in a manner they deem appropriate."

The Ryan's are expected to appear in court again this Friday.
