Seems all that Condit/Davis annimostity is all water under the bridge. Or does Gov. Davis also need a little help taking out some trash? <wink, wink>

The Buzz: Governor finds a role for ex-Condit staffer
By Dan Smith -- Bee Deputy Capitol Bureau Chief
April 7, 2003

You may remember him as the congressional aide who drove his boss to a trash can in Virginia in 2001 to toss out a watch case as police investigated the disappearance of former intern Chandra Levy, with whom the married California congressman had reportedly been involved.

Mike Dayton, former legislative director to ex-Rep. Gary Condit, would like to put that all behind him now, as he starts his new job as an appointee of Gov. Gray Davis.

Dayton, 33, was recently hired within the new California Department of Homeland Security as a special adviser to Director George Vinson.

Dayton's job is to identify federal homeland security grants for which the state, its cities and counties and California-based technology companies are eligible, and to navigate them through the bureaucratic process.

The job pays $90,000 a year, according to the state Department of Personnel Administration. As an appointed post, it is exempt from the state hiring freeze in effect as California stares down a $35 billion budget shortfall, said Davis spokesman Steve Maviglio.

Maviglio said the governor's once-friendly relationship with Condit, a Democrat from Ceres, played no role in Dayton's hiring. Instead, he said, Dayton was chosen because of his experience navigating the federal appropriations process: "He knows how to get money, and that's what we need."

Added Dayton: "It's good to be home."

I think the Condit/Davis animosity is alive and well. :) Dayton has proved himself to be a loyal trooper who probably has a lot of dirt on everybody. But seriously, there no longer seems to be any obstruction of justice investigation anymore to hamper his effectiveness. That is a real shame a grand jury didn't pursue this. It was one of the few avenues available to get new information on Chandra's disappearance. Dayton is the alibi for Condit the day Chandra disappeared.

Speaking of Davis:

RECALL GRAY DAVIS - DRAFT ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

Posted By: Rayelan
Date: Monday, 7 April 2003, 12:07 a.m.

California citizens are facing the roughest years any of us have ever known. Governor Gray Davis has bankrupted our state. Many people who read RMN are California residents. You will be interested to know about the way the recall petition works in California.

The Attorney General (I think! May be the Secretary of State) has to verify that enough valid signatures were collected, and if they were, the petition has to go before the public in a matter of weeks.

What is VERY VERY interesting is this: The RECALL of Davis AND the election of the new governor are done at the SAME time!!

In other words, if enough people vote to recall Davis - the next thing that the vote counters look for is who was the top vote getter in the poll. In other words, on the same day, Californians will know if Davis was thrown out AND they will know who their next governor will be. An INSTANT transfer of power!!

The advantage to this kind of election is this: THE SPIN DOCTORS and the magicians of Madison Avenue will NOT have time to confuse the public with their lying political ads! The only information the public will have on the men and women who are running for governor will be the blurb that is written in the voting pamphlet.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger put out the feelers that he was interested in running for Governor, the enemies on the other side began to destroy him. The first thing that was published were articles about the way he "gropes" the women he works with. (Bill Clinton got elected TWICE as president!! Groping women must be a Plus for Politicians!!)

The next thing that happened was the publications of stories about the problems he is having in his marriage to a Kennedy woman!! After this, I think he saw the handwriting on the wall and backed out.

If Arnold is still interested in running for Governor of California, this is the best time for him to do it. His enemies will have NO time to knock him out of the running. His name will be the best known name on the ballot. He will win hands down!!

If you agree with me that Arnold should be drafted, join with me and email his webmaster at

webmaster@schwarzenegger.com

Hopefully we can start an avalanche of 'DRAFT SCHWARZENEGGER' emails and get some new blood into California politics!!

RECALL GRAY DAVIS

Top 5 Reasons
To Recall Gray Davis

Lied to Public About California’s Budgetary Matters Solely to Gain Re-Election: Never has there been a time where a politician had been more disingenuous in deceiving and misleading the public than Gray Davis. He knowingly lied through his teeth before the election about the size and scope of California’s $34.6 billion budget deficit.

Lied to Voters About His Plans to Raise Taxes: As soon as he felt he had hoodwinked the voters and Election Day had passed, Gray Davis suddenly declared a serious budget crisis existed. Then he started advocating massive tax increases plus cuts in public safety and education to balance the state’s budget.

Pushes for New Form of Taxation – Taxing the Internet: Never has there been a more dangerous threat to commerce in the state and indeed the nation than the current consideration by Gray Davis of inventing new ways to tax families and small businesses. Gray Davis has now proposed implementing a tax on Internet commerce for any company with a retail outlet in California. This will provide one more means for the government to collect more of your money so that corrupted and incompetent politicians like Gray Davis can mismanage it.

California and The Nation Still Suffer from the Davis Power Crisis: Californians are paying the highest utility bills in the nation because of Davis’ gross mishandling of the state’s power crisis. This has hurt other states as well as the notoriety of the California Energy Crisis created a disincentive for other states to explore reforms to public power agencies as the means of providing affordable electricity to the public.

The People’s Property For Sale – Selling the Government for Campaign Cash: In the past year, numerous allegations have emerged concerning the role of fundraising in the administration of Gray Davis’ duties as Governor. Questions have been raised over whether campaign contributions affected the Davis’ Administration change of heart in allowing cancer causing dioxin to be dumped into our water ways. The California Teachers Association – long an ally of Democrat Party candidates – was even faced with an extortion demand for $1 MILLION while meeting with Davis in the Governor’s office to discuss educational reforms to benefit children.
It’s not a question of whether we should recall Gray Davis, it’s an issue of how long we can afford to wait – all the while watching California slide further into the abyss.

You may be curious as to the author of the above could be? She is the ex-wife of Russbacher, an excerpt from another link about Russbacher:

Russbacher was imprisoned for six years for trying to wake up the
American people. He was brutally beaten and tortured. He was
subjected to unecessary open heart surgery, which was meant to
kill him. His attorney, Paul Wilcher, was murdered for trying to
expose the truth about Waco, the truth which he had received from
Gunther Russbacher and Russbacher's Faction 2 SEAL team.
Russbacher's wife, Rayelan was kidnaped, drugged, hypnotized,
entrapped in a failed FBI sting operation, and had numerous
attempts to kill or harm her.

After six years of standing by her man through thick and thin,
Gunther was released and Rayelan looked forward joyously to
rejoining him. Within one day things had changed. Gunther went
from loving his dearest wife with all his heart, to barely
knowing who she was. Rayelan states he was subjected to intense
mind control, or he was given a chemical such as scopolamine,
which changes a person instantly. According to Rayelan, Gunther
went crazy. He was no longer the man she loved. In truth, she
barely recognized his voice. She felt he could have been
replaced by a double.

Rayelan later found out, from former FBI Director, William
Sessions, with whom Russbacher had worked on counter terrorism,
that her husband was traveling with Jane Ryder, a respected BBC
film producer who was partnered, both romantically and
business-wise, with the late, great documentary film producer,
Allan Frankovich. Frankovich died suddenly, within weeks of the
Russbacher-Ryder union.
