Hello, Jane!
Nice to hear from you, again! I think the material gives us something else to sink our teeth into. I will try to find more!

Rainbow, thanks so much for this new information. I had been wondering when the February hearings were going to start, and here we now find out they've been holding them in secret.

Again, this is our Federal government's doing. The Public Defenders and the newspapers trying to get the hearings open, and these yahoos we pay in the Department of Justice continue to play rope-a-dope with the truth.

I guess this is like a game to them. Play rope-a-dope stalling as long as they can until all the evidence that they manufactured this "cellmate confession" is destroyed in all the backups and archivals.

Just another day of justice for Chandra.

Well, there's something substantial going on because the judge keeps holding these hearings and our Justice Department keeps trying to hide the dirt that's being dug up. He wouldn't keep at it if he couldn't see these DC prosecutors are hiding the truth.

I think the real issue here is that our Justice Department can lie and stall and rig cellmate confessions and hide the truth about Chandra with impunity.

It continues in March.

Update on hearing today. DC prosecutors still playing rope-a-dope, saying they are "looking" for documents on Guandique, the Justice Department is a "big place". Been playing rope-a-dope for several years now.

They will apparently refuse to find anything by saying they are still looking for perpetuity, or at some point they'll say we don't keep records that long. Who knows? They lied when Chandra disappeared after being unceremoniously kicked out of her Justice Department intern job for no reason that Chandra could think of, lied to the grand jury to get Guandique indicted, lied to the jury to get Guandique convicted, and now lying to the judge ever since then.

They make their "cellmate confession" stooge seem like a beacon of truth in comparison.

Jonathon Anderson is now Guandique's lawyer from Public Defender's office. He was heavily involved in the appeal for retrial work and I think will ultimately be successful.

Here's Michael Doyle's report on it:

Fox News just announced that the prosecution has withdrawn their objection to a new trial! Never thought it would happen.

wow, that is amazing, sigsky. I've been checking my search criteria in recent weeks wondering what happened to news on Chandra. It was radio silence. I thought holy cow how can the government stonewall justice this long?

Don't know the details yet, but took a very very persistent Public Defenders Office and a judge who let the DC prosecutors spin and spin until all there was left was a tangled web.

As soon as looks like a new trial, we'll start a new thread.

McClatchy reporter Michael Doyle reported the context behind this turn of affairs we have sought and fought for so long for Chandra.

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2015/05/22/267597/as-key-hearing-on-chandra-levy.html

Turnabout becomes fair play Tuesday, when the prosecutor who led the Chandra Levy murder investigation is compelled to take the stand herself.
...
“The focus of these proceedings is what did the government know, and when did it know it,” D.C. Superior Court Judge Gerald Fisher summed up in a recent hearing.

end quote

Well, we know what they knew, and rope-a-dope played as long as they could, justice just a word to misuse in their title, as in Animal Farm, the end game drew nigh.

The DC prosecutors frivolties start anew for round two.

I sincerely hope we can present a better case for Chandra than the prosecutors scandulous gee it was a nice day for a walk in the park.

The Justice Department hasn't told a single truth about Chandra since the day she was booted out of her Bureau of Prisons intern job.

There's a reason for that, but someone isn't talking.
