First he has to get a publisher who thinks they will sell more books than the advance they have to pay him.

The advance is negotiable, but Condit will obviously be looking for a tidy payout and the publisher will be examining the manuscript for salability, i.e. revelations.

A manuscript of what Condit has been saying won't be purchased.

Also, latest lawyer, Gang of Five Peace's son, which by the way all of a sudden is no longer with Latham & Watkins, I find that interesting, is making noises about how Condit needs to start suing again, in so many words.

He needs someone to publish something he can sue about. Maybe lack of apology to him?

Yeah, I think that's the agenda now, destruction of character, yada yada yada, I've been vindicated, I'm going to sue those who destroyed me.

Well, here's a clue Condit, you've only been vindicated in the minds of Chad and Cadee, who didn't need to hear a vindication.

Everyone else pretty much thinks you're scum.

Answer the questions posed in Murder on a Horse Trail in your book and then you'll have something to talk about.

Just dating students around your daughter's age when you are married, leading them to believe you plan to marry them - that is pretty bad. And no matter how many times we are told Condit cooperated with the police, we know he misled them as much as he could, and only incorporated truth into his stories to police when it leaked out through other sources. That is not cooperation and does not show Condit having concern for anyone other than himself. There is lots of evidence that Guandique had nothing to do with Chandra's disappearance and murder - lots of reasonable doubt. But even assuming, for the sake of argument, that the jury's verdict is correct, I don't see how that turns Condit into a decent man.

It doesn't, and Condit is directly responsible for the DC police considering Chandra a suicidal runaway for the first two months.

Cooperate? Condit has told ten versions of what happened, adapting to each new revelation that came out, and still hasn't told the truth. Or anything close to it.

Of course neither has the DC prosecutors. Must be the way they operate in Washington and we're just supposed to accept it. Must be nice when a government has its own Pravda to print its lies.

Well said, RD, especially the "Pravda" reference! I don't believe that the D.C. police or Levy investigators involved in the original investigation believed that Chandra was a "suicidal run-away". What they reported to the newspapers was "that there was no evidence of foul play".

What the D.C. police and/or Levy investigators didn't emphasize, was that Chandra's apartment was wiped clean of fingerprints, although it was stated in one of the first reports that came out in the D.C. local press and then went "poof" some time later. The D.C. police refrained from letting the public know what conclusions they drew with regard to the fact that as Dwayne Stanton, Levy investigator, mentioned in a paraphrased phone conversation with a potential witness, "The lack of evidence was evidence in and of itself--evidence that a professional and/or professionals were involved."

WikiLeaks still not sharing docs with Washington Post
by Michael Calderone

Quote:
WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange really didn't like last month's New York Times profile of him—so much so, apparently, that he opted against giving the Times an advanced look at the State Dept. cables his organization began publishing Sunday.

It's not the first time Assange has cut off a news organization following a WikiLeaks profile that he didn't consider to be completely accurate.

In July, Assange told Forbes that the Washington Post wasn't on his short list of media organizations to get the Afghanistan war logs in advance because of a May profile with "a line in the story which stated that WikiLeaks had been compared to 'Baghdad Bob'"— a reference to Saddam Hussein's former information minister.

"I'd never heard this allegation before," Assange said. "So I looked for a reference to us being compared to Baghdad Bob and after 20 minutes of searching I found one right-wing blogger who had mentioned that phrase on one occasion. That's not quality journalism."

I reached out to Post executive editor Marcus Brauchli for comment about the paper's conspicuous absence among the roster of news outlets that WikiLeaks granted an advance view of the group's trove of secret documents.

"You'll have to ask WikiLeaks or the consortium of media companies cooperating with them," Brauchli said in an email. "There's certainly not a better platform for national-security and diplomatic news, though we'd obviously be wary of accepting anything that comes with terms and conditions that would constrain our journalism."

Journalism is a curious practice to me. When "reaching out" to the Washington Post, why would not Michael Calderone ask instead about the Baghdad Bob reference?

It seems to me a question about the Washington Post's reaction following the charge is secondary. What about Bob?

I like what you posted Jane. GC is not what I would call a decent man at all. I can't understand how is wife lives with him. She enables this
behavior.

Wonder, after Rd as stated some facts, if this book will be released.

Hope so, as I would love to find out what he states and slips out!!
Of course, it will be filled with Lies as that is all this man is about. Still, we can gather much from his words.

Gary, an "imperfect man", was put on the stand as a witness for the prosecution in Ingmar's trial. He was given a "big break" to tell his side of the story and "redeem" himself. Everyone waited with baited breath and still nothing. Gary lost his chance to win-over the crowd.
