They didn't. Guandique's face was the last one Chandra saw as she begged for mercy, they said.

I'm begging for mercy from their stupidity

Chandra Levy case goes to jury
By: Emily Babay
Examiner Staff Writer

Quote:

"He is responsible for there not being any DNA evidence," prosecutor Fernando Campoamor-Sanchez said, noting the isolated area where Levy's body was found. But Guandique's lawyer, Santha Sonenberg, stressed that the 24-year-old Federal Bureau of Prisons intern's DNA was not found on Guandique's clothing. "Her DNA wasn't on any of his items because he didn't struggle with her," Sonenberg said. "He wasn't there."

Thanks for pointing out that WTOP article, Rainbow (the second last one you referred to). I thought I read it thoroughly the day it came out, but I certainly did not.

It definitely looks as though Chandra was dead when she was taken to the place where her remains were recovered, since decomposed hair was found inside her tights.

Decomposed hair from little Caylee Anthony was found in the trunk of the car her mother had been driving - when hair comes out of a dead person it has a ring near the root. I remember hearing that on TV (that was when I got caught up in the Nancy Grace repeating loop).

So that means Chandra died with her tights on and they were pulled off after her death and she was bound with them, not to restrain her, but to stage the eventual recovery scene.

Haines said of Guandique, "He's the human scratching post." Is that evident in the arrest photo from May 7? If the picture we've seen is the one Iris took of Guandique in the park, there are no scratches evident.

To tell you the truth, I have no idea why the jury has been taking so long.

I have no idea either, except that they know how highly publicized the Chandra Levy case is, there may be media exposure for them, and they want to do a throrough and professional review of all the charges.

From the information revealed about their backgrounds, this is a highly educated and professional group of people.

Bureaucrats, and all that goes with that, you might say. :)

Tomorrow (or rather later this morning) jury starts fourth day of deliberations.

I hope they reach consensus of Not Guilty on all counts, but may be hung jury. I don't know.

I am very nervous about the verdict. I think you are right about it, though.

Just wondering. . . Is there any way the prosecution could get to the jury and "fix" the verdict? So many strange things have gone on in this case.

Like they "helped" the witnesses. Yeah, not the whole jury, but I wouldn't be surprised at least one juror is being helpful.

I see. Isn't one of the jurors and/or alternates a government attorney?
