Even after he was on the run after he killed his gf 30years ago and promised to come back and kill her family, LE finally caught this madman. This murder is no different then the ones we see today where the bfs/ husbands want to do away with their wife's or gf's because they are no longer wanted. I'm so happy he has been caught and justice will be served for this woman and her family. They no longer have to live in fear. 30 years is a long time. The scars can now begin to start healing.

MOBILE, Ala. - A family finally has closure on a murder-mystery that happened almost 30 years ago.

In 1980, a woman was killed in a jealous rage by her boyfriend. Since that time, neither the family nor police knew the suspect's whereabouts. Police said new technology helped track the suspect down.

The detective on the case said the man committed several violent crimes across Gulf Coast. The victim's niece said growing up, she vowed to get justice.

Cassandra James said the home on Live Oak Street in Mobile, where her Aunt Carolyn James spent her last living moments, is no longer standing. But the memories of what took place there can't be erased.

"It's been a hard road over the years watching her children grow up because they experienced being at home during the actual murder of their mother," said James.

Police said John Pulmas shot and killed 31-year-old James after she tried to break off their relationship. Pulmas tracked her down to her mother's home where the victim refused to come out.

"Some witness said they saw Mr. Pulmas go into his vehicle and get a gun. He proceeded to come back to the residence door and shot through the door. At that time Ms. James was actually putting the latch on the door. She was hit in the thigh area and in the abdomen area. Her mother, Ms. Mable, was actually in the living room. She gets shot in the arm. He practically shoots her arm off, and she plays dead," Detective Ronald Wallace said.
