In a news report this morning, LE states they do not suspect foul play but I do. Why would she leave a concert without her purse, cell phone, car and leave her friends? It does not make sense.

UPDATED: State police say missing VT student has no I.D. or cell phone; Parents make appeal to public

SNIP
In a news conference Monday state police say Morgan Harrington was separated from her friends Saturday night at a concert at the John Paul Jones arena. She has not been heard from since. Joe Rader with the Virginia State Police says that Morgan does not have her cell phone or any identification with her but will not say what items were found in the investigation.

Rader strongly urged her friends to get involved in this case and help police determine her whereabouts.

Harrington's parents, Dan and Jill, both spoke at the news conference and appealed to Morgan to call them, or if there is someone holding her against her will to release her. Morgan was supposed to return home Sunday to study for a math test with her father. When she never showed up, her father reported her missing to police.

State police say Morgan went to James Madison University to meet her friends Saturday, and she and her friends left for the concert at UVA together. She was separated from her friends around 8:40 p.m. Her parents said no one has heard from her. Her father called this atypical behavior for his daughter and indicated that she would have called by now.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Police are searching for a Virginia Tech student who hasn't been seen since she was separated from her friends at a Metallica concert Saturday.

Morgan Dana Harrington, 20, was last seen near the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va.

Her parents said they talk to her every day and her disappearance is very out of character.

"Morgan is a pretty transparent kid, who's had a really close relationship with us," her father, Dan Harrington, said in a phone interview Tuesday with the Associated Press. "I don't think there are lots of secrets, so this kind of behavior of (her) missing is not something I think we would expect."

Morgan is pretty close to us as a family," he said, adidng his daughter didn't have a boyfriend and didn't know if anyone who would want to hurt her. "We don't think she is out there with someone she choose to be with."

Amy Melvin, her roommate in Blacksburg, Va. told The Roanoke Times Harrington went outside the stadium before Metallica went on stage, but she wasn't sure why.

LE are treating this as a missing person's case. There is no evidence a crime has been committed.
