Thank you, sigsky!

From the article: "...."Guandique said that he was in the park and saw her go by, and that she had a jogger's pouch with her," one unnamed prison informant claims, in new court filings. "He decided to rob her, and he hid in some shrubs and [Guandique] decided she was not going to get away from him, because the others had gotten away from him...."

Hey! Does this (bolded part) not sound like a reference to the unsuccessful attacks on Halle R. Shilling and Christy Wiegand on May 14 and July 1? These occurred after the disappearance of Chandra, not before...

From the article: ....Prosecutors contend in new legal filings that Guandique tailors his stories "to impress his audience and what he perceives will most likely impress" them...."

Does the prosecution really think this filing will help their case??

That needs to read "prison informants tailor their stories to whatever they think will get them out of prison".

This results in such bogus stories as not knowing all of Guandique's failed attacks were after Chandra disappeared.

Stupid prisoners. And what does that make the government people who don't know any better than to file this as evidence against Guandique.

Obviously people who aren't accountable to the truth.

From the article:

Quote:
In court Friday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Fernando Campoamor said his office has learned the reason Guandique's DNA was not present at the scene but would reveal that during the trial.

I think I already know ;)

Top two reasons Guandique's DNA is not on Chandra's clothing:

2. Guandique didn't kill Chandra.

1. No DNA survived the elements for a year, including Chandra's.

Sheesh, how stupid can these DC people get?

from WJLA:
But the judge warned a new review of the evidence might play into the prosecution's hands and might actually link him to the murder.

This is the right approach to take for defense. They know Guandique is innocent, and they should pursue the truth behind who murdered Chandra to defend Guandique, because the DC police and prosecutors won't.

But with the FBI lab technician contaminating the evidence, any DNA found is suspect, especially for DNA taken in this case such as Guandique's and Condit's.

However, given the ineptitude of the whole sorry lot in this mess, an independent analysis by the defense is called for. The same kind of independent analysis that was denied by part of the DC coverup crowd, the medical examiner Arden.

from myFoxDC, Paul Wagner reports:
Levy disappeared in May 2001. Around the same time, Guandique admitted to attacking two women in Rock Creek Park in the very same location where Levy’s body was found a year after she disappeared.

I don't know who this Paul Wagner is. He may very well be a nice guy, who knows. But he is a maliciously bad reporter.

His statement is equivalent to saying the Washington Post building is in the very same location as the White House and the top of the Washington Monument.

That's how bad his reporting is.

I was at the Washington Post building to drop off my book back in 2004, and the locations I picked for that analogy are not random. That's the kind of differences in locations we're talking about in the two Guandique assaults and Chandra's body location.

This is nothing short of clueless brainwashing to repeat these lies as reporters like this and some of the cub reporters at the Washington Post do, maliciously in my opinion.

from WJLA:
Also Friday, the prosecution released statements from Guandique where he talked about using a lasso to grab women to rob and rape them. They acknowledge that while Guandique's statements about the killing vary, there is always one constant: that he murdered Chandra Levy.

end quote

Except for when Guandique passed his lie detector test denying he had anything to do with Chandra's murder and the first of many inmates making up stories failed his lie detector test.

Just that little discrepancy, prosecutors.

Anyone interested in the issues in a Guandique trial for Chandra's murder will find an interesting read in the Washington Post investigation of Chandra Levy cold case thread.

I just re-read it myself and find it more relevant than ever.

From Friday's W Post online

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/23/AR2009102303082.html

The judge, however, denied defense motions for the prosecution to turn over evidence from places other than Rock Creek Park, including Gary Condit's apartment, so that they could be tested.

Hi everybody!
What about the evidence that Anne-Marie and Jim Robinson called the FBI's attention to and that they originally took from the closet (and elsewhere) of Mr. C's apartment? And, once again, what about the "lack" of evidence in Chandra's apartment (evidence that it had been "sanitized")?

Wow Rainbow!

Please refresh my memory. I would like to read about it. The police actually found something? I'm drawing a complete blank.

Hi Sigsky and gang!
Sorry that I didn't include a news link. Here is an excerpt from an article by Chris Suellentrop in the July13, 2001 version of Slate magazine, which gives some information about Anne-Marie's DC interviews and the search conducted by law enforcement at Mr. C's:

Wednesday, July 11: At about 2:45 a.m., police leave Condit's apartment, taking what CNN called "two grocery-sized bags and several rectangular-shaped items bundled together." A source tells the Washington Times that police took samples from "one drop of blood in plain sight in the bathroom" and from specks "that might possibly be blood" on Venetian blinds. The source told the Times that Abbe D. Lowell, Condit's Washington attorney, refused to let police take "a pair of pants that had a red stain." The New York Daily News later reports that police "say privately they don't think anything happened" to Chandra Levy at Condit's apartment.

Flight attendant Anne Marie Smith talks for six hours with D.C. police, federal prosecutors, and FBI agents. Smith's attorney, Jim Robinson, tells the Daily News that much of the interview dealt with Condit's "demeanor, behavior, and habits." According to news reports, authorities are investigating Condit on possible charges of obstruction of justice and suborning perjury.

Thursday, July 12: Investigators interview Smith for five hours. The New York Daily News reports that Smith kept a journal that contains details of conversations she had with Condit about Chandra Levy. The conversations took place after Levy disappeared. Smith shared the diary with federal prosecutors.

Another look inside the closet:

Worldnetdaily.com: Paul Sperry, July 20, 2001

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=23715

Robinson, however, says that Smith suspected that Condit may have engaged in bondage-and-discipline activities at his Adams Morgan condo.

On one visit to his condo, Smith noticed "neckties tied together that were tied to the feet of the bed and shoved underneath the bed," Robinson said. "They looked like they'd been there awhile."

When Smith confronted Condit about the ties, he joked it off, Robinson said, saying "Oh, oh, honey, I was just thinking about doing that with you."

"She didn't believe him," Robinson said.

Also, he says that Condit made one closet in his condo completely off limits to Smith, making her suspect he kept bondage-and-discipline equipment in there.

"She had to use a hall closet by the front door for her suitcases," Robinson said.
