Here is a list of...

SUICIDE RISKS IN SPECIFIC DISORDERS:

> Prior suicide attempt 27.5%
> Bipolar Disorder 15.5%
> Mixed Drug Abuse 14.6%
> Major Depressive Disorder 14.5%
> Obsessive Compulsive Disorder 8.2%
> Dysthymic Disorder 8.6%
> Panic Disorder 7.2%
> Schizophrenia 6.0%
> Personality Disorders 5.1%
> Alcohol Abuse 4.2%
> Cancer 1.3%

So it looks as though narcissism (a personality disorder) IS a risk for suicide, although
not as high as most of the risks listed.

I got the list from Richard C. Holbert, MD at http://medinfo.ufl.edu:8050/year1/humbehav/presentations/3_19_08_suicide_holbert.ppt .

Wow, it is really strange it is the anniversary of Chandra's disappearance. I find this bizarre.

Also, it really doesn't matter how she died, we all know it won't be invesitigated. I still will never be convinced iit was by her own hand.

Thanks for the stats. Jane.

I found this over at prisonplanet.com. While they don't mention that Palfrey's death occured on the seventh anniversary of the May 1st connection to Chandra's date of going missing in 2001, it does make a pretty convincing argument that there was more to this story than the mainstream press would let on.

OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE POINTS TO MURDER OF DC MADAM
Paul Joseph Watson, Prison Planet
Evidence is stacking up to suggest that the alleged "suicide" of DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey was in fact a calculated murder, as the manager of Palfrey’s Florida Condo reveals that Palfrey was not suicidal when he spoke to her Monday and told him of her fears about a contact being out on her life.

The new testimony is backed up by at least four other recorded public statements on behalf of Palfrey attesting to the fact that she would never commit suicide and if she was found dead to immediately suspect murder. Despite these on-the-record statements, the majority of the corporate media has ignored each one and instead given credence to the unverified claim of a professional conspiracy debunker who has been caught fabricating statements in the past. The building manager of Park Lake Towers in Orlando, where Palfrey owned a condo, told WESH 2 news channel that he spoke to Palfrey on Monday as she was packing to leave for her mother’s house and she did not seem upset or suicidal.

"Jean Palfrey was a class act. She wore very good clothes. She was well educated. Her way out of this world certainly would not have been in an aluminum shed attached to a mobile home in Tarpon Springs, Florida," said the manager, who did not want to be named. The manager said that Palfrey had told him of her fears that a contract hit was out on her life. "She insinuated that there is a contract out for her and I fully believe they succeeded," he stated. According to the manger, Palfrey left for her mother’s house with some suitcases and a box. "She had one white paper file box that she told me had some important paper with her and then she just kind of raised her eyebrows like you’re supposed to think oh yeah, that’s all the information that she had on her business in Washington," her building manager said.

If Palfrey was planning to commit suicide just three days later then why did she leave with several suitcases and a box of files? According to an AP report, "Blanche Palfrey (her mother) had no sign that her daughter was suicidal, and there was no immediate indication that alcohol or drugs were involved, police Capt. Jeffrey Young said," . On at least four previous occasions, both in the past and more recently, Palfrey publicly stated that she would never commit suicide. Twice on The Alex Jones Show, the most recent example being less than two months ago, Palfrey made clear her intention never to kill herself.

"No I’m not planning to commit suicide," Palfrey told The Alex Jones Show on her last appearance in March, "I’m planning on going into court and defending myself vigorously and exposing the government," she said. "Not to be concerned, I have no intention of letting anyone buy me off or make any kind of a deal with me….and I’m not planning to commit suicide either," said Palfrey on a separate occasion. Alex Jones also talked directly to Palfrey during show breaks and she re-stated her intention never to commit suicide and made it clear that if she was found dead to consider it murder. GCN Live radio board operators are also witnesses to these statements.

Though never confirmed directly, Palfrey strongly insinuated that both Dick Cheney and John McCain were possibly involved in the DC Madam scandal, and this could have been one of the primary reasons why she was murdered. During a May 2007 interview with Carol Joynt, host of the Q&A Cafe interview series, during a discussion about the alleged suicide of Palfrey’s former call girl Brandy Britton, Palfrey stated, "I don’t want to be like her. I don’t want to end up like her." During another appearance on The Alex Jones Show, Palfrey said she thought it was possible that Britton’s "suicide" was actually murder because none of Britton’s loved ones considered her to be suicidal. Palfrey is on record as warning that any "suicide" would just be a cover-story for murder as far back as 1991. "If taken into custody, my physical safety and most probably my very life would be jeopardized," she wrote in August 1991 following an attempt to bring her to trial, "Rape, beating, maiming, disfigurement and more than likely murder disguised in the form of just another jailhouse accident or suicide would await me," said Palfrey in a handwritten letter to the judge accusing the San Diego police vice squad of having a vendetta against her.

Despite these four separate examples of Palfrey stating - on the record - that she would not commit suicide - the corporate media, within hours of the announcement of her death, immediately afforded credence to the claim of a "friend," investigative journalist Dan Moldea, who said Palfrey had told him of her intention to commit suicide. Moldea has no tape, he has no other eyewitnesses, and he has been caught fabricating statements in the past, and yet the media took his words as gospel. In addition, if Moldea was aware of Palfrey’s intention to kill herself then why, if he was her "friend" as he claims, didn’t he try to stop her from doing so? The numerous examples of Palfrey stating that she would never commit suicide in addition to her condo manager and her own mother stating that she was not suicidal clearly provide justification for an exhaustive police and FBI investigation to be undertaken. Despite these glaring factors, the police who discovered Palfrey’s body immediately ruled that no foul play was involved and closed the book.

The knowledge that Palfrey had about members of Washington’s elite being involved in and using her escort service for the purposes of hiring prostitutes would have been enough to end scores of careers and wreck the lives of countless influential power brokers. This alone, allied with Palfrey’s on the record statements, demand an immediate and thorough investigation in an attempt to bring to justice the murderers of Deborah Jeane Palfrey.

Hi Rainbow,

I downloaded the phone bill documents which are really huge some time ago, and started work on typing off the phone numbers but I got sidetracked on Jennifer Kesse's case and all the image analysis I did on that, months and months of it.

Pelfrey's page gives another link to a site where the files were converted to the phone numbers with nearly 100 hours of work, and that's without verifying any of the output. So that's teh kind of work it will take to get all those phone numbers off the documents and look them up, and quite frankly, lots has changed since then, probably only looking up in an old copy of Phone Directory software would one might have a more realistic chance of finding a connection with numbers in use back then.

Thanks for that reminder, Rainbow.

Deborah Palfrey, DC "Madam" commits Suicide on May 1, 2008, the exact same day as the seventh anniversary of the dissappearance of Chandra Levy in 2001! Is this just a strange coincidence? Chandra was rumored as having been one of the girls Palfrey recruited for her services by Fox News and others, since she fit the profile of the type that worked for her and of course her relationship with Condit and the mysterious circumstances surrounding her unsolved murder. The suspicion is that Gary Condit was one of her clients and met Chandra through her service. Palfrey denied that Chandra worked for her, and I doubt that she did. But this is pretty bizzare. Most comments I read on the Internet state disbelief that it was simple suicide, and that she was done in, instead. I believe Condit has always had some high-level kind of political protection because of his knowledge of the private lives of D.C.'s "elite". What if Palfrey had made threats to reveal more than we now know, because she saw a very bad outcome for her sentencing hearing in June...Perhaps to Gary Condit? As far fetched as it seems could this be some kind of perverted "signature"? Of course it simply could be that Palfrey was depressed about spending time in jail. But the timing and circumstances of this makes me wonder.

James, I think May 1 was picked deliberately, but I don't by who.

Hi Everybody!
I have enjoyed reading everyone's analyses. Here is some information on the suicide notes that were found:

TAMPA, Fla. (Map, News) - The woman known as the "D.C. Madam" apologized to her mother and sister in suicide notes, saying she couldn't bear going to prison and saw killing herself as the only "exit strategy."

Deborah Jeane Palfrey, convicted last month of running an elite Washington prostitution ring, wrote to her mother that she could not "live the next 6-8 years behind bars for what you and I have come to regard as this 'modern day lynching,' only to come out of prison in my late '50s a broken, penniless and very much alone woman."

The notes were released by police Monday.

Palfrey, 52, hanged herself with a nylon rope Thursday in a shed outside her mother's mobile home in the Florida Gulf Coast community of Tarpon Springs, northwest of Tampa. Her mother, 76-year-old Blanche Palfrey, discovered the body.

Deborah Palfrey was convicted of running a prostitution service that catered to members of Washington's political elite, including Sen. David Vitter, a Louisiana Republican. She denied her escort service engaged in prostitution, saying that if any of the women engaged in sex acts for money, they did so without her knowledge.

She was free while she awaited sentencing on July 24 and had been staying with her mother.

Her suicide appeared to have been planned for days. The note to her mother was dated April 25, nearly a week before she killed herself. Police said the notes were found on a night stand in the bedroom where she'd been staying. One of the notes said, "Do not revive. Do not feed under any circumstances."

In the note to her younger sister, Bobbie, Palfrey expressed her love and told her to "be strong for mom."

"Also, you must comprehend that there was no other way out, i.e., 'exit strategy,' other than the one I have chosen here," she wrote. "Know I am at peace, with complete certainty, I believe Dad is standing watch - prepared to guide me into the light."

Also Monday, police announced that the medical examiner's office officially ruled Palfrey's death a suicide by hanging. A toxicology report is pending.

Her death last week had sparked widespread Internet chatter among those who speculated that someone killed her to keep her from identifying more prominent clients of the escort service.

"Tarpon Springs Police Department detectives, after following up on several investigative avenues have not discovered any new evidence which would indicate anything other then a suicide by hanging in this case," spokesman Capt. Jeffrey Young said.

Palfrey's mother and sister identified her handwriting in the suicide notes, Young said.

A federal jury convicted Palfrey on April 15 of money laundering, using the mail for illegal purposes and racketeering. Prosecutors said she ran the prostitution service for 13 years. The trial concluded without revealing many new details about the service or its clients. Vitter was among possible witnesses but did not take the stand.

Palfrey had vowed that she would not go to prison, even telling a Washington writer that she would commit suicide first.

I am including a link to a so-called "Democratic-underground" website, where you can hear D.J. "in her own words".
In an effort to remain "fair and balanced", we should all remember the illegal nature of Ms. Palfrey's alleged business dealings. More than a hint of arrogance can be heard in her voice. As I mentioned in my previous post, all people mentioned in these recordings and articles should be assumed innocent of any illicit intentions, activities, etc., unless proven guilty in a court-of-law.
Please Note: This site contains info that is being discussed in the public domain, but does not necessarily reflect the views of anyone (including myself) on this forum. Moreover, some of the material included here is NOT G-rated!

Hi Rainbow, rd et al. I would like to see the handwriting of Palfrey's that her landlord says doesn't match that of the suicide notes.

When I went to the link I was looking for that other sample, which wasn't there. Just off the top of my head, the suicide note does look flamboyant, which one would not expect in a suicide note - large and extroverted-looking. I didn't really examine it yet, though - will have a look now.

I'm wondering about 'the little surprise' in the bank account Palfrey mentions to her
mom in the suicide note (that will cover funeral expenses etc.)

Here are llinks to some of D.J.'s handwriting samples and amateur analyses:

Hi Rainbow et al. Thanks, Rainbow, for the handwriting sample links.

Well, I would like more extensive samples from Deborah's handwriting. It's nice that her landlord provided what he did, but they are very limited.

Still, it is clear that if the suicide note is a forgery, the forger certainly had samples of Deborah's writing, because there is definitely a similarity. In both, the writing is mainly in caps and the letters are formed similarly.

However, the pressure in the suicide note appears much heavier (with reproductions this can be difficult to assess, though. A felt-tip pen will appear heavier than a ballpoint pen even with the same amount of pressure.)

A marked difference in the suicide note is the concave form of the horizontal strokes (the tops of the I's, T's and E's). Sometimes the ends of words in the suicide note lapse into lower case, as though someone is forging and lapsing into their natural style of writing (FEELINGs, UTTERANCe, YEARs, LOVe, EMBRACe, HAPPY-go-LUCKY, ATTITUDe...that is just from the first part of page 1). But in both sets of writing, the t's and y's at the end of words appear to be lower-case and the q in the middle of REqUIRE in the landlord's sample appears to be lower-case.

There is a lot of clubbing at the ends of words in the suicide note which is not present in the landlord's samples (this is a thickening at the end of a stroke and indicates a chronically angry person). Again, though, there is a disadvantage analyzing reproductions and therefore not knowing what type of writing implement was used.

I feel there is a possibility the note was not written by Deborah or that it was written under duress, but I would want more samples of her writing and the knowledge of the type of writing implements used.

Now I'm going to look at the other analyses and see whether others saw anything similar to what I noticed (thanks again, Rainbow - this would be fun, if not for the sad subject material!)
