I had to do a survey on magazines and it was on People, (edition date Sept. 17, 2007.) On page 201 they are discussing Unsolved Mysteries and there is an article on Chandra. This is to some regard what it says.

2nd Paragraph starting:

In an early interview w/police CA Rep. Gary reported admitted affair w/her. (The married Congressman. never ackn. the romance publicly.) From that point on, the police and the media focused relentlessly on his involvement, a rush to judgement that may have been one of the biggest hindrances to solving the case. "All of a sudden, GC became the only one they would consider," says a source close to the investigation. "We became fixated on him."

Yet Condit was never off. named as a suspect; in 2002 he lost is bid for re-election. That year Ingmar Guandique, a Salvadoran Natl. who was serving time for attacking 2 woman in Rock Creek Park, came under suspicion, but police were hindered by a lack of physical evidence due to the severe weathering of Levy's skeletal remains (Guandique and his lawyer have said he had nothing to do with her death). Solving the crime is "almost impossible," says Joe McCann, a P. I. hired by the Levy camp. "The only thing that will break this case is a confession.

It was a short article.

Nice find, goz. If the DC police were fixated on Condit, I'd hate to see what they are like when they are not fixated.

If they are just going to give up, they could at least publically announce the answers they have to all the questions I pose on Chandra's case in Murder on a Horse Trail.

Then we could judge for ourselves whether they were fixated enough to investigate.
