This goes to show not everyone goes to a lot of effort to make an inconvenient woman disappear. He just put her in the storage room. Maybe he'd get around to her with spring cleaning?

Some loose ends here. He explains not noticing her being in the storage room due to not being able to smell, but nothing said about the daughter noticing a smell when she found her mother. She was said to be looking for a "cat".

Sounds as good excuse as any to nose around the storage room looking for her missing mother.

oh, and the standard I thought she ran away routine from him. Lock this guy up and throw away the key.

Man Blames Bad Nose for Not Smelling Missing Wife's Dead Body in House
Associated Press
July 28, 2007

HARLINGEN, Texas — A man who said he has damaged nerves in his nose never smelled his wife's decomposing body in a storage room of their home and thought she had left him, police said.

The couple's daughter was looking for a cat July 15 when she found Alicia Pilouw's body in a storage room filled with household items, Eugene Pilouw said. His wife had been gone for three days.

"I never smelled anything and I still don't smell anything," said Pilouw, who blames diabetes for his damaged nose. "I thought she had run away from home again — especially after I noticed an envelope with $250 was missing."

Harlingen police expect to get toxicology test results Monday that will help them determine 50-year-old woman's cause of death, police spokesman David Osborne said. He said that initial autopsy results were inconclusive.

I just read the story and was thinking of posting it. Didn't know what the heck to make of this one. New twist on things here. Good one. Guess the daughter really missed her mom too.

I will agree the nerve damage is possible but the rest of the story does not jive. Something SMELLS here.

Nobody smelled a body, HUH!! yea...
