We mentioned this pregnant young woman under another case briefly, possibly Tara's. Her husband claimed to have had a fight with her on an isolated road in WI-she claimed to want to leave the car, and he let her out. She went missing, and a body was found. It has now been identified.

A few statements: Please read the article for the information on the story since we do not have it listed. Also note-the husband is the only witness to this story of letting her out of the car, (as she stated to him to avoid a fight!!). So far, no arrests to date. He is in jail for another CHARGE at the time.

Blessings to this family and may they rest in peace, mother and child.

As rd says, "Another woman that proved inconvenient!"

Criminal Case: Human Remains Identified

Clark County
Dec 16, 2005

The search for Christine Rudy is now over.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office says the human remains found last week have been identified. The remains are of Christine Rudy. She disappeared last month. She was six months pregnant at the time.

Investigators are now calling this a criminal case. They are not saying how she died or where the remains were found. People are being questioned in the investigation, but no one has been arrested and no suspects have been named. Christine's husband is in jail, but he was arrested in a different case last month. He told authorities that he got into an argument with Christine on November 12th and he dropped her off on the side of County Road MM near Stanley. That was the last time anyone reported seeing her.

An attorney who is not involved in this case told News 18 on Friday that under Wisconsin law, someone could be charged with two counts of murder in this case because Rudy was pregnant. "When you deal with two charges... which if they should be intentional could be as high as life in prison without parole... having two charges increases the likelihood someone may have to try the case through a complete trial rather than have a plea agreement," says Harry Hertel, an attorney.

We have not followed this story but the outcome is very sad and one
that I had expected. Prayers for this young woman, her unborn deceased murdered child, (May they rest in peace)- and her family. Let us hope her husband will get his due.

The State of WI does not incorporate the Death Penalty.

Missing pregnant woman's dismembered body found

By Matt Ollwerther

NEILLSVILLE — Shaun W. Rudy was named a suspect in his pregnant wife’s disappearance Thursday morning by authorities, who said he allegedly shot, dismembered and disposed of Christine M. Rudy’s body before reporting her as missing to police.

Authorities said Thursday their investigation revealed that Shaun Rudy, 23, allegedly shot his wife Christine, 21, on Roger Creek Avenue in the town of Butler and removed her body to another location where he dismembered it.

He later disposed of her remains in the Chippewa River near the Cobban Bridge in Chippewa County, they said. Christine Rudy was six months pregnant when she was reported as missing.

Authorities searched the Chippewa River on Jan. 3, but no evidence was recovered, said Chief Deputy Jim Backus. Divers plan to return when weather and ice conditions allow.

Shaun Rudy has not been charged in Christine’s disappearance.

Authorities provided a timeline of the days leading to Christine’s disappearance.

The couple left Clark County the evening of Nov. 8 and traveled to Crawford and Grant counties, as well as Iowa, they said.

They are suspected of participating in a burglary in Iowa where three guns were stolen, according to the department.

Authorities would not disclose the Rudys’ activities in Crawford and Grant counties.

Shaun and Christine Rudy returned to Clark County on Nov. 12, where they had an argument along Roger Creek Avenue and Shaun allegedly shot his wife.

Shaun Rudy has said he let Christine out of their vehicle during the argument and reported his wife missing to the Thorp Police on Nov. 14.

Investigators found her partial remains along Roger Creek Avenue near County MM in the town of Butler.

A DNA match was made with evidence recovered at the scene with Christine’s medical records, Backus said. Officials would not release what evidence was found there.

However, no body has been found, said Clark County Sheriff Louis Rosandich.

Shaun Rudy sold a 20-gauge shotgun to a friend on Nov. 18, according to police records. He was later pulled over by Thorp police because his rear window was covered with snow.

That traffic stop lead to the current charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and firearm as a felon.

He remains in the Clark County Jail on those charges.

William Poss, Shaun Rudy’s public defender, said there are more questions than answers in the case, and he has found no evidence that directly ties his client to Christine’s death.

“If charges are filed, we look forward to our day in court,” he said after the press conference. “He was very upset when he found out his wife was deceased.”

He planned to meet Thursday with Shaun Rudy.

Authorities have had little contact with Shaun Rudy since he requested counsel on Nov. 20, Backus said.

Christine Rudy had no criminal record.

No information was released about the second woman in the vehicle when Shaun Rudy picked up his wife in southwest Wisconsin or a second vehicle authorities impounded.

It seems obvious that the police will arrest the husband in the murder of his wife, and it is unfortunate that yet another woman is murdered by her husband. It seems obvious that the laws need to change, that stiffer penalities need to be enforced for certain types of crime, such as first degree murder charges. Obviously the deterents to this type of crime have no effect on reducing the number of women being, murdered and abused by their significant others.
